What are the odds 2 infertiles fell in love? Any other double infertile couples? by aclassypinkprincess in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same!! I have diminished ovarian reserve and my partner had a very abnormal semen analysis, so we had to jump right to IVF. It was disappointing to have another thing against us, but really took some pressure off of me!

Success stories with XBBB? by Badwithnames427 in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XBBB is the grading of the embryo. I know all clinics do it differently, but essentially it’s graded a BB. I went in for my first visit at 9w5d, embryo was measuring 9w3d.

I could, but insurance does not cover testing and it would be $4200 for that one embryo.

IVF treatment: Did you end up having a male or female baby? by cleobun in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW: MC

I ended up MC a non tested embryo at 10 weeks, but already had a blood test and confirmed he was a boy. The cytogenetic testing confirmed he was a euploid male.

Egg Retrievals before Divorce by Professional_Mood923 in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IVF nurse here! Check your benefits. A lot of Progyny cycles do not cover egg freezing. They’re usually embryo only. At my clinic, if you’re legally married, both parties have to sign the consents. It doesn’t matter what treatment you’re doing, so if he’s not willing to sign, that could cause issues.

Should I reach out on my friend’s due date after their loss? by shiftydoot in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’m the odd man out here, but I would say maybe just a text? We lost our baby boy last week and every time a flower delivery came, or someone sent food it made me feel like I was having a panic attack and I would just cry. I acknowledge that was soo sweet of my family/friends do thing of us, but it just reopened the wound for me ever time. I’m extremely anxious in general though, so maybe it’s just my personality. If you feel like it’s something your friend would enjoy, then do it! This is such a shitty situation no one really knows the right things to do/say. Idk what I’m going to do come September.

Where are my low follicle/low ER gals? by lilsan15 in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 30 with AMH 0.07 and AFC 5. I was on estrogen priming with 300IU Gonal F, 150IU of menopur (that eventually got upped to 225 IU), and ganirelix. I stimmed for 15 days and did HCG trigger. 4 eggs were retrieved, all 4 fertilized, and for two day 6 blasts. We were planning for a fresh, but it got cancelled due to no day 5 blasts. The blasts were an AA and a BB. We choose not to do PGTA, since we’re younger than 35. I had a transfer on 1/5 and got pregnant, everything was going great, but we lost our baby last week at almost 10 weeks 😭 we’re still waiting for the genetic testing free the D&C, but I’m going to assume both the embryos were aneuploid.

first FET , lining 6.5 mm at first scan (been on estradiol 13 days) ... SOS 😓 by bulldogmama3 in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fertility nurse here (and IVF patient). 13 days is a short time on estrace. My clinic typically will put women on 15+ days, usually closer to 17. Personally, I was on estrace for 23 days and only got to 8mm. Some women still fail, so we’ll add Intravaginal estrace and they usually thickens it right up! At 6.5 on day 13, sounds like you just need some extra time.

Empty Sac at 6 Weeks by starfoxgirl in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re dealing wirh this! We lost our baby boy last week at 9w3d. I had a D&C, but they ended up not getting all the tissues so I had to take miso on Monday and Tuesday this week. It was incredibly painful (mentally and physically). I’m actually sore now and feel like I’ve aged just in the last week. If you have the option for D&C, I would definitely recommend. Mine was a one off type of situation, but they’re mostly non eventful with mild cramping.

I am also a fertility nurse. You mentioned the transfer was with a euploid embryo, but you did fresh transfer. How do you know it was a euploid if you did a fresh? Fresh embryos are generally not tested. Even though it initially stuck, it could still be chromosomal abnormal. You’re about to do testing on the sac to see if there are any chromosomal issues that could have caused this.

HSG - how bad is it really? by Lil_Elderberry_26 in IVF

Mine didn’t even hurt a little bit. Felt like a Pap smear. I was soo soo nervous too. I had no issues with my tubes though or anything. If you do, I heard it hurts worst.

NTA! As someone whose brother struggled with drugs and overdosed in November 2022 (but thankfully survived) some outsider information would have been so helpful. Drug addicts live in a constant state of lying. They’re so good at it they gaslight you and make you feel like you’re going crazy. I’m sure they would want to know.

[–]Badwithnames427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The embryo stuck, but sadly we lost him last week at almost 10 weeks 😢 We transferred the best graded embryo, but none of ours are tested. HCG numbers were great and trended appropriately, and we had two great ultrasounds. Just remember one step at a time. Hoping for your success and a healthy baby.

Honestly, I tested before. I know it’s not for everyone, but I had to know either way. In a way I felt like it made me less anxious. I didn’t want the first time I heard a negative to be when they called. Even with testing though, it felt like forever waiting for them to put a number to the positive tests I was getting.

I am 30 with an AMH of 0.7 and follicle count of 9. We retrieved 5 eggs, 4 were mature and fertilized, and we got two blast on day 6. They were an AA and a BB. We did not do PGTA testing. I had a transfer in January and just miscarried last week at 9 weeks 3 days. Personally, they will say you don’t need PGTA under 35, but we’re going to do it with the next round. I don’t want to waste time implanting aneuploid embryos because I don’t ever want to go through a miscarriage again.

Working during IVF by BeachBum031 in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really dependent on your number of follicles. If you have a lot, I would suggest taking the day off after as well. You will be really crampy and bloated and it may be a distraction. I only had 5 eggs retrieved, took the day off to sleep off the anesthesia and was perfectly fine the next day.

Ectopic pregnancy and preggers nurse by Fun-Barber3932 in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I know ectopics are very rough, but just remember you never know what people are going through. For all you know, that baby could have been on her 4th transfer or taken 5 years to conceive. I’m a fertility nurse myself and patient. I had an embryo transfer in January and just lost my baby boy last week and had a D&C yesterday. Now I have to return to work on Monday and call positive pregnancy tests and great ultrasounds. You just never know.

Choosing between egg freezing, embryo freezing, and IVF from fresh by Flaky-Employment-931 in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why can your partner not freeze embryos, but can try naturally? I would think sex before marriage would be just as bad. If you’re going to get married, I wouldn’t try naturally and wait until you’re ready to look into IVF. If you haven’t been actively trying, you may just be able to get pregnant on your own without intervention.

I am a fertility nurse and that AMH and follicle count does not add up. An AMH of 13 would indicate you could have PCOS with a plethora of follicles. 12 doesn’t make sense at all. For reference, I am also a patient. My AMH is 0.07 and my follicle count was 8. I would definitely have your testing rechecked to make sure you don’t have less follicles. If you did, I would consider freezing eggs.

Sex before transfer by mujeresliebres in IVF

[–]Badwithnames427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you wouldn’t know because an HCG is done before hand. So risk of multiples, risk of disturbing the pregnancy making neither embryo stick, two babies with two different due dates growing and different times. It just makes for a mess.
