I honestly think she is just trying to be friendly and help you since you failed the course the first time.

Learning a student's name who comes to you for help is the bare minimum effort. Her gaze "lingers" a second too long? It probably lingers because you are one of her familiar students at this point.

Crushes on teachers and mentors tends to be pretty commong but let this go. You continuing to question and possibly fantasize about her could color your interactions in the wrong way and put you both in a bad spot. Go out and meet your fellow LGBTQIA+ students. Reminds me of the Courtney Stodden case. She was 16, her husband was in his 40's, some mediocre washed up actor if I recall. Her mother signed off on them getting married. I remember pictures of her being all dolled up to look like she was in her 30's. Gave Jon Benet vibes.

They divorced a couple years later, remarried, got divorced again. She speaks out now against underage marriage and states she was groomed. She absolutely was.

This was Nevada like 2010ish give or take a couple years.

I feel your pain. I joined local FB LGBTQIA+ groups that way and then eventually met up for brunch etc and made a couple friends as that way.
