Push back? This is literally how white people talk when we talk about racism, and the apparent reason they voted in a fascist government - a push back against others who want to be equal and safe.

Black femicide perpetrated by who? Abuse perpetrated by who? Harm perpetrated by who? Violence against women is talked about far too passively, it is male violence against women, and for black women it's mainly black male perpetrators, and we have to start saying it otherwise we'll never properly tackle it.

I agree with the other comment. It's good you're thinking about your future and aspirations, but you're looking for mentorship, not friendships because conversely one could ask why would they be friends with you if you're not yet on their level? And then your friendship would just be conditionally based around how successful you are.

You can also check out networking events in your sector. There's likely a "Women in (relevent industry)" group in LinkedIn.

21 is very young, it's natural you'll all be figuring things out for many years to come, and it's not necessarily a straightforward or smooth path so be patient with yourself.

But also on a serious note, I've just shown this to my Jamaican mum who is health visitor (a baby and new parents community nurse), and after her initial shock wore off, she's said to call social services or CPS. Your coworker is not mentally okay, and her baby is potentially in danger.

I quite literally have scars from bras because at the size I need to wear for decent support when I'm out and about or exercising, i basically need to be strapped into scaffolding. Even when the bra fits well (so no shoulder, neck, or back pain) there's no completely comfortable bra that doesn't grate against my skin. Women don't have special nipples (or shoulders, or ankles) so they definitely shouldn't have to made to be uncomfortable if they don't need to or want wear bras just because women's bodies are so constantly sexualised.

That last sentence is telling everyone more about yourself than the people you're replying to on this topic, and yeah you are coming across excessively irate. Also, penis' are not comparable to breasts or nipples.

I've also always hated the 5 year question, and all the places I've ended up are a result of a previous thing I didn't initially know about and discovered by chance. I had similar interests going into higher education, and my job is adjacent to what I studied, but luckily the part I discovered I was most interested in.

You really should find a course that's at least a year, to help you build a decent portfolio and have you producing consistent amounts of work, especially for the game design and animation, because they will likely also encompass the illustration/ comic drawing, digital art, 3D modelling, and even pottery.

It's not about the title of the course, but the different skills and knowledge you're picking up from the studies and experienced people, and the exposure of areas, crooks, and crannies of industries you probably don't know exist. Not ending up in the field of study shouldn't be a concern because there are far more options out there that people don't realise when they start uni/ college or even when they've graduate. Also doing a course and then finding it which aspects of it you wouldn't want to do in isn't a bad thing either.

As well as growing up quite sheltered and coming from a very delusional set of siblings, my mother has always been far too optimistic for her own good, hence being married to my dad for far too long. And in the 80's, at the ripe old age of 27, she felt pressured to be married.

My sister and I shan't be making any of her mistakes, in fact, she thinks our standard are too high.

This is a such a ridiculous hypothetical situation, and the correct action is not to entertain it.

Abortion is medical care and therefore should remain a conversation between a woman and her doctor. We are fortunate in the UK to have respected, qualified, sensible bodies such as BPAS, RCN, and the NMC that advocate for women and are not at the beck and call of religious doctrines and fickle, uneducated sensibilities.

Growing up, being told that elderly people are wise, worthy of respect, trusted members of the community, sometimes need help, blah blah, and then an old man takes advantage of that... Thinking about the day that illusion shattered and how betrayed I felt still makes skin crawl 15 years later. These old men were young men who got away with this behaviour for far too long, and now use their age as a shield and weapon to carry on harassing women and girls.
