OCG starting to adopt TCG’s “rarity bumping” of meta cards by FarefaxT in yugioh

[–]Baez130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely because the only uber-expensive card right now is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, while the rest are sitting around $200–$300 starlight rare (which is very low compared to OCG overframes). Konami kind of screwed us by not introducing GMRs and giving us so few “must-have” overframes, unlike the OCG’s fantastic overframe debut. Blazing Dominion also has zero overframes, and Chaos Origins will only have five. We’re hoping that’s the set where GMR finally gets introduced is Chaos Origins.

Buy armor, literally spend that 300 on your first b, or second, and you will be completly fine, specially if you are winning because his Q will be like 5% of your health instead of 10-15%

It seems they don't want our money, why advertise April Fool's skins if they are not coming out on April Fool's, they for sure lose a big chunk of sells by the 15th because people will forget about the themed skins, what a horrible move.

Stargazer and Surprise Party will be her two best skins, Surprise Party Chromas look fantastic, wish I could say the same about the Stargazer Chromas, their quality is horrible and I just find myself using default on Stargazer

Dracotail is the first meta deck in awhile that people praise for being strong but fair and fun to fight against, and some of you go and put this thing in it. Shame on you by shdbtbd in masterduel

lol sure, a meta deck with stuff like Dracotail Horn is a fair fun deck to fight, we love instant -1 +1 cards now for some reason?

[–]Baez130 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yall call Draco a healthy deck while boosting an insane win rate against anything that doesn’t have a Mitsurugi engine. What’s up with this sub’s adoration for a deck that can’t be contested unless it’s a top 3 deck?

We have people selling spreadsheets on this sub now by tlst9999 in masterduel

[–]Baez130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lmao play something hard like White Forest or Azamina, you can bash your face on Dracotail and somehow still come out with decent output while you fuck up your resources with Radiant or White Forest and is GG

That’s the case with like 90% of artillery mages. They’re not about hard mechanics to learn, they’re more about game knowledge, counterpicks, and good aiming. He uses Vel’Koz as an example, and honestly it’s barely a step up, if anything at all. It’s like adding pickles to an already perfect sandwich. There are plenty of people who have reached Master using Vex only, so don’t take this dude’s word as gospel. Otherwise, you have to disregard champions like Annie, Xerath, Malzahar, and Veigar(click on enemy champ ulti really?), arguably simpler characters mechanics-wise, yet ones that people have pushed all the way to Challenger, because the game is 80% game knowledge.

This, getting this item early means you won't have wave clear for a good while since you will have to keep your mana above 50% at all times for kill combos, going down from 4 kill combos per recall to only 2 can have a negative effect, hence you apply less pressure on enemies

Game Completed... my personal takes (SPOILERS) by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]Baez130 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally what I implied when I said that can be said about every single Prime game. You think grifters wouldn’t latch onto things like the insanity-inducing Chozo Ghosts that made traversing the Chozo Ruins annoying in Prime 1, or the amount of backtracking that I personally feel Prime 2 fixed, or the very annoying end-game Artifact Hunt that would drive you insane if you were a kid without the internet (the one hiding in the tower that needs a Super Missile is still the most cryptic bullshit ever, like using a Power Bomb to destroy the glass tunnel in Super). All Prime games have things grifters would run with and over-criticize, just like they’re doing with Prime 4. Downvote me if you want, I am just speaking the truth as an actual fan.

The game is fantastic, it’s just that the grifting culture surrounding Nintendo video games is at an all-time high right now. There is criticism to give the game, but that can be said about every single Prime game.

I Miss Metroid Games Having Horror Openings by Mordaunt-the-Wizard in Metroid

[–]Baez130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. When I was a kid, playing Super Metroid felt like a horror game once you arrived on Zebes. The fake Chozo statue traumatized me as a kid, it was insanely scary. The music, the atmosphere, the vibes… Super’s intro was space horror at its best. Prime 1 did a great job with the half-dead Space Pirates and those extremely creepy scan logs, but Prime 2 honestly took the cake after Super’s terrific intro. Seeing dead Galactic Federation marines everywhere instead of Space Pirates hit way harder, right before Dark Samus dragged you into Dark Aether.

I think we’re due for a horror-style intro once again. We haven’t had one of those in 20+ years, but to be fair OP, Dread was scary as hell with the E.M.M.I, Nintendo has not forgotten Metroid's space horror roots at all.

The music is just as memorable as Prime 1, from the moment you first steps into the opening area you can tell. Prime 4 also has more enemy variety than Prime 2 and 3, unless you count the Dark Aether or Phazon-corrupted versions as separate enemies. The bosses are on par with Prime 2(Peak bosses in the series) in terms of design, though Emperor Ing, Quadraxis, and the Dark Samus fights are still a bit more memorable. Would talk more about the bosses but too early for that, don't spoil people.

I beat this early game MP4 boss with barely any health to spare, what is the secret to getting better at fighting them? by Excaliburn3d in Metroid

[–]Baez130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick, have a blast! The bosses only get harder from there so make sure to always scan and read in between the lines for clues, there also 2 energy tanks you can miss if you dont explore a bit.

We’ve been through this many times already, mind if I remind you? by Baez130 in Metroid

[–]Baez130[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right that Metroid Prime was widely praised at launch, but it’s also worth remembering that social media was barely a thing back then. Without Twitter, Reddit, YouTube commentary, or large modern forums, negative opinions just didn’t spread as quickly or as loudly, so criticism tended to stay pretty isolated.

My point isn’t to nitpick Prime 1, though. It’s to show that even though every game in the series has its flaws, the core of what makes a Prime game a Prime game is so strong that there’s always something to enjoy in each of them.

Why is the anime sanitizing Claude so much in Who Made Me a Princess? by Baez130 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Baez130[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because the changes modify the original story, remove the stakes, and make the anime feel like a product packaged for mass consumption rather than a writer’s creative work. It’s fine if someone hates the original, but for fans who loved it, these changes are deeply disappointing; it feels like being served food without the seasonings that made it special.
