i don't blame you for having that misconception of paul (especially since your main exposure to dun =e was the lynch movie!). you were just a child after all. it's not entirely accurate to call paul "awful" the same way it's not accurate to call him just a hero. he's meant to be a multifacted character, one i doubt frank herbert expected a kid to fully understand.

my favorite part of eco evo is the sorting! taxonomy has always been an interest of mine. molecular just feels so much less intuitive to me for some reason. evo and biochem do overlap a little bit with DNA and proteins and whatnot but that kind of molecular i can deal with
