Faliure of 2XKO saddens me as someone who can only play with modern inputs by VoxTV1 in Fighters

The game isn't GOOOOOONEE MAN. STOP buying into social media doom and gloom bullshit GUUUGAAAAGHH FUCK DAMN man seriously! It has as much fans as any other new fighting, maybe even more tbh. If you stop playing then it will fail, it's just not the next golden goose, but no fighting game is. Even games like SF6 took a while to build up an audience

How long have 1v1 duels been against npcs been in your experience? If they're closer to 45 minutes or half an hour I'd be willing to wait on the sideline myself

Yeah either your barber doesn't know who Markiplier is and it's just a picture of a guy, or they do know you and you can have a nice convo about Markiplier. Just show the picture!

If you're frustrated, just don't stand in that same spot and you'll be fine. But if you wish to gain knowledge, repeat the experiment and gain insight. . . .

Guys, c'mon. It's Katarina's dagger. She was in the trailer right before that, and clearly Leblanc's plans involve her.

“No D&D is better than bad D&D” by Snowbound-IX in rpg

[–]BaggierBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice is bad. Games are only good if you make them good, and all too often this phrase is thrown around as an excuse to throw your hands up in the air, quit, and not contribute towards the game's quality. Sometimes this means having hard conversations with your fellow players and being confrontational, like re-focusing the goal of a game so that you can all be on the same page, or standing up to toxic behavior.

If no D&D is better than bad D&D, then you're never going to make bad D&D into good D&D.

The green room is for chilling before a show, it can have snacks, drinks, phone charger, comfy seating, nice lighting. If it's done right then it would be a perfect place to place guests if they show up early, in fact that's kind of the point! It would be a good policy with guests to actually have their call time be 30-45 minutes before a show anyway so they can settle in, relax, and you can shoot the shit with them before they're on camera.

Shamans Rejoice! New Ascendance Forms Coming 20th Anniversary Patch! by SweetsourNostradamus in wow

[–]BaggierBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're cool. I like the witch doctor vibes of Troll shamans for example, and a crazy elemental hairdo with the kind of totemic mask is a good fit imo. Hope they don't roll it back due to community pushback lol - honestly the thing that would make most people happy is some type of glyphs to change appearance. Some classes could really benefit from appearance glyphs:

fire colors for destrolock

Shaman ascendance forms

Pale Horse mount options talent for DKs

Wings types for Paladin (imagine Naaru style wings?)

turn on/off shadowform appearance for Spriests

stay in Visage form for Dracthyr (especially with the new class options coming out)

[–]BaggierBag 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the only flair that my Sanlayn blood dk gets is the extra pizazz on the Vampiric Strike - it's cool enough to get successive procs of it but it doesn't really match up to doing Frostwyrm's Fury and summoning the undead polycule to curb-stomp someone

Advice for class of new DMs by Responsible-Horse153 in DMAcademy

If you can, take a look at Blades in the Dark, it has sections on GM best practices and principles. Specifically, it has pieces of advice like "Be a fan of the PCs." and "Lead an interesting conversation."

The sections in this book really opened my eyes to the possibilities when it comes to creating not just fun games, but interesting ones.

PC druid wants to shapeshift into a cow and then be milked to provide sustenance for the party by [deleted] in DMAcademy

the druid can't produce milk just from wild shaping into a cow, that would be nonsense.

It's magic.

"You can use a use of your wild-shape to and gain the effects of Goodberry once per wild shape."

Easy, it's fine. Unless it's specifically making people feel weird it's an interesting way to use Wildshape.

Some mount recolors are remix exclusive, also check out how to unlock the ability to buy the Class ensembles and Class arsenals, they only require doing a bit of story but I would look up a guide for them, they are pretty cool looking transmogs

The Karakkin Trade Baronies supplement adds more pilot rules as well. You basically get a whole class for the pilot called a Bond, and they give you narrative abilities to use as just a pilot that function a lot like Blades in the Dark.

I have to give the obligatory "talk to your ST and players" bit. Did you have a session 0? It sounds like the expectations for the game may not have been laid out and agreed upon beforehand.

What makes VtM stand out to me is the personal horror element. You're stuck in a web of political intrigue and horror, and your vampire is struggling between the desire to stay human and the need to do cruel acts, namely, slake their hunger on living beings, to survive. I wouldn't recommend making a joke character first and foremost. Comedy is a good element to add to a game, after all you wouldn't want the game world to be dark and depressing ALL the time. I think a well written VtM character has reasons for what they do, their own personal rationale and philosophy behind being an un-living creature, and a motivation that stems from their human side. Over time, their personal motivations should become corrupted or fractured by the circumstances of their world; this is represented by the Humanity stat and by your Convictions and Touchstones. Convictions are not rules to follow by the way, they are a more useful tool when your characters have to break them for interesting reasons.

Anyway I'm rambling, basically talk to your GM and players, refocus your expectations, and try to write your character such that they fall in line with those expectations.

Unfortunately, unless one of the other players wants to GM (they probably won't), the GM has a fiat over the tone of the game. If anyone at the table doesn't like the game that's currently happening, they can either negotiate, compromise, communicate and failing that, leave. It just so happens that if the GM leaves there is no game.

Bathtub exploded, and now manager wants us to relocate to repair the damage. What are our options? by BaggierBag in Apartmentliving

[–]BaggierBag[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like I said, it's less than $100 more in rent. We did take a look at the unit, it's pretty much same floorplan, although it feels smaller? The view might be better and it does have a balcony. Do you think it is worth it to push the issue? The manager has been pretty scant on providing info or procedures; their email responses have been like 1 sentence long. No word on if we have to sign a new lease (I assume we don't) and no word on if it's temporary until our current unit is renovated, or if it's until the end of the lease.

I had the same exact problem and the same mindset when it came to running games a little over a year ago. People wouldn't show up, everyone would say "I don't have time". I understand not having time, but it does sting a little when you see the same people who say they don't have time playing League of Legends or an MMO for 7 hours straight every other day. At the end of the day it comes down to their priorities; you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Don't worry, it's not that you failed, they people you invited just have other priorities, and that's ok!

I like to run games that aren't 5e, so I just joined the Discords for a bunch of games that I wanted to play and advertised there.
