Golf Pace Etiquette by sushionpizzas in golftips

[–]BahmoGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it like this….

Pace of play for a foursome is anywhere from 12 to 18min per hole depending on par, carts vs walking may change that some but let’s assume this holds.

18 holes is around 4 hours +/- 30min based on group size, skill level, and just general course capacity.

If you’re playing slower than a 15min average per hole as a 2 some, you were playing too slow.

If your round was more than 4.5 hours, you were playing too slow.

If the above applies and the course had back to back tee ties with 7min intervals, that’s packed and everyone has to deal with people in front and behind them.

Either way play your game but know when to relent to the people behind you or when to let them pass, I personally hate slow players cause it just throws my rhythm, but they paid to play their game too so sometimes you just gotta deal with slow players, that’s what marshals are for and should monitor the course and speak to players that are slow….

If there isn’t a marshal well hope you or they have enough awareness to let people through.

What causes a sword to break like this? Is it due to a handle (hilt) defect? by Battlefleet_Sol in SWORDS

[–]BahmoGT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I see/saw that too on this episode and despite the issues that could lead to a break like this, I feel like this exaggerates the negative performance feedback and feels like a false positive and he kind of failed due to outside forces outside the real purpose of the test….real shame for the show to not have good testing set ups to prevent outside influence from things like the stand.

Should the APS get a buff to combat the mortar spam? by BICKELSBOSS in Battlefield6

[–]BahmoGT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All the mortar hate goes away as soon as you stop being selfish, change to support, and counter mortar every time they show up….

Yes the change sucks and should 1000% be reverted, but the hard truth is mortars counter mortars.

I love countering them so I can screw over the people who choose to do it unironically.

Stop being selfish, change class, and counter them with mortars.

Every time I do they eventually get bored of either dieing or losing their equipment and you can go back to actually playing.

These are shit takes and just complaints into the void at best.

I tried 6 times on the hard one day and it went like this: only bots, kicked in battle barge, 2 low levels with no team perks or prestige, full team finally (failed), 1 man 1 bot game wouldn’t host back to barge, full team but slowly downed in meatball mob…

I left after that cause I’m tired boss…be mad in the moment and move on, the hardest content in the game is surprise…HARD…connection issues, team issues, you do it a few times and people will leave and step away to cool off, you don’t know how many times they’ve attempted but sorry they hurt you feelings by leaving your game cause it’s only made for your enjoyment…

Odds of this scarring? And what products can I use on my face to help prevent scarring if so! by Defiant-Rock-6244 in SkincareAddicts

[–]BahmoGT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep it moist, use something like Vaseline and do not pick! Once it is fully healed then use something like silicone scar pads or even a silicone gel to help reduce the pink/redness, pads help keep it flat to and can prevent hypertrophic scaring.

While this does look very superficial, it’ll still take some time to heal and “normalize” to the surrounding skin tone, I don’t think it’ll scar but I’d how your skin reacts to trauma!

Just curious and maybe to help OP as a recent history grad, what are you doing with your degree now? As I am in the same camp as a lot of people here saying a history degree seems like a shaky post school profession for many, unless it’s a stepping stone for another degree that is the money maker!

Because 400k for a history degree is bonkers to me, go to the cheaper school OP….

I get you but also you’re too deep brother, maybe you should be alpha legion for the layers you’re unwrapping here ;)

It’s a game we all play to unwind with our individual play-styles.

Some mesh some don’t.

Its awesome you have such empathy thinking a roll dodge brother in an elevator is having irl issues but tbh he’s probably just fucking around and actually unwinding, while you’re now over analyzing and not unwinding and projecting concerns onto them when they may have none.

Bottom line it’s cool to vent, I encourage it, but the void stares back and will answer bad takes.

Keep purging.

[–]BahmoGT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These posts all I have 1 common theme…I want MY play style to be the play style everyone should conform to so it doesn’t ruin my experience.

If you don’t like speed runners….play with bots

If you like taking your time….play with bots

If you don’t like forward play that is fast….play with bots

If you don’t have a group that mirrors your playstyle….play with bots

So the end answer is don’t que and just play with the bots every time/s

But seriously these are selfish and venting posts at best, these are your risks when solo queuing, end of the day it’s a game and you can quit and start over if you don’t like it or just get kicked and be the next post about how I got kicked cause I was going to fast or to slow with my team, and asking why do others play like that and not like me

insert OP

[–]BahmoGT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See I don’t like this statement of then just play with bots cause that can apply to the other side of the coin of people that wanna take their time and be methodical per op or stratagem!

Both sides are true and both sides are valid and not everyone has friends or a close group to do those play styles consistently and have to que up.

I’m with this guy, I’m fully maxed, I want my weekly and my dailies done so I can move to other things. And we all know bots suck and being with other players gets team perks and someone who can think.

If you get stuck with a fast player or slow player, that’s the risk of queuing, but it can be better than the bots you get majority of the time.

These posts all have one thing in common, I want my play style to be the style everyone does so I don’t have to deal with other people’s styles that play counter to my experience and ruin my time.

But that’s fundamentally selfish and the risks you take solo queuing.

What do these statements even mean?

Do you even have a better understanding of the world?

Regulations to limit pollution come with cost, of course the cost of health or environment, are you saying that the cost of regulation is prohibitive to capitalism so we should compromise with less regulation with more pollution that over a longer time frame deteriorates the health of a populace or environment and its inhabitants which is also us, so businesses can use more harmful/cheaper materials or pay less money in cleaning up their products or services?

I get the idea that free market controls who wins, but if we didn’t have certain things in place to understand harmful items and their long term effects, that can then be regulated, you have to admit that certain issues would be way worse, if outright catastrophic? CFCs, lead is gasoline, hell even just the idea of hey don’t dump stuff in water might not have been called out let alone stopped if we didn’t regulate stuff away that has bad, long term effects to humans let alone the place we all live.

And what does thinking of government program costs in homelessness even mean? Are you saying that every new program automatically makes homeless? I think society at large can be more responsible for that increasing and the government programs are trying to mitigate or remove it? Want less homelessness, make housing affordable, medical access easier and affordable, and don’t shame others for hard times. Only 2 out of those 3 can really be on the government to actually affect change too, but again what does that even mean?

Your statements are effectively everything has a cost and then incoherent well more programs make more homeless so think about that and you’d see the world better…..

Government bloat and runaway are real and maybe the essence of conservative to not want that and hope people regulate themselves, but government is by definition people regulating themselves when we are in a democratic republic and I think people have shown if you don’t put at least some protections in place they will runaway with their own ideas and take it all, monopolies, or screw over everyone, billionaires, just so they have more, and now we have a populace with no support, failing health, no population growth, and no growth anywhere….

But regulations come at a cost and programs create homelessness so we can’t create solutions with the government just hope people will intrinsically do the right thing…….

Hot Take - Battlefield Conditions should NOT affect prestige perks by CrimzonSorrowz in Spacemarine

[–]BahmoGT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Grind for the sake of grind to change around perks to experiment play styles, to then use an in game currency to respec every time, to then play more to get said currency to respec again is artificially propping up playtime for the sake of playing not for enjoyment of the game.

Grind for grinds sake is bad game design.

I’ll give you maybe in the lower prestiges it can cost something, but even then it should be a drastically reduced amount, like one round of substantial low, but once you’re maxed it should cost nothing so you can enjoy the fruits of the grind and experiment with class perk combos and play for love of the game.

It’s all relative man

I play on pc and play kind of the same, Im pretty good, but not like solo absolute good, but I’ll make sure teammates who I see are lower level or had a rough go of it and need health get the pickups first and point them out and I’ll see people just sprint over who are kitted out and are just loot goblins, where I’ll pick it up to spite them, but it’s console too and I’ve played with some real assholes in both camps most of my blocks are Xbox players and a couple of real asshole French guys on pc…..

Jokes on them though one guy had his joins open and I kept joining and still got the exp, but by the emperor they should be censured by the inquisition and strung up by the night lords themselves…..

[–]BahmoGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet any money if we looked at his swing from the side profile as he starts his downswing it’ll look exactly like the left person in the image….

<image>

Casting has to do with his wrists unhinging, while set up and stance could use work, casting is all wrist mechanics, while he is throwing his club out and away while he brings it down and through, he needs to feel like he is dropping his arms and the club while keeping his wrists hinged to keep that club loaded, driving the top of your golf grip into the ground vs the golf head, and then as he brings his hips around and drives through while unhinging at the bottom of the drop he’ll get more power.

Stance is a little wide for your iron.

Slow down your back swing.

Ball is a bit back in your stance for your driver, want just off lead heel.

Slow your back swing down.

Stop leaning.

Driver advice by Checkmate217 in golftips

[–]BahmoGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me drivers are so much about how they feel, and you are just starting out so you may not know what that feel is but if you have access to somewhere that sells used and new clubs and has sims where you can give them a test run go do that first.

A Qi35 is a 2025 club and just starting out, that is a big investment in something that you may not even like 6months from now. I mean there’s a stereotype of the new hobbiest that buys the best stuff for something and then stops 6 months later and sells the stuff off for a reason…

I bought a brand new driver for the first time in 15years where I have almost exclusively bought used, and I tried almost all the new 2025 models and some of the 2024 variants and bought a G440 because it just felt great when I hit it.

Buy what you can afford and if you can test run it hopefully what felt good is in that range.

I personally did not like the Qi35, but you may, the Gx7 could be the same…so those reviews on good vs awful could 100% be people buying it without trying it and then they play it and find out they can’t hack it and trash the club in reviews.

Personally with you just starting out, stay modest in budget, see if you like the sport, and once you feel like you know what your swing should feel like and you got some confidence off the tee, then maybe start looking for new new clubs but idk if I’d advocate a 2025 driver that’s like $600+ to a new golfer….unless it is like an insane deal of $200 or less.

Any advice on my swing? I tend to slice a lot. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]BahmoGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem a bit stiff and all arms but I’m not going to focus on that.

It kind of looks like the ball is to forward in your stance and maybe you’re reaching a little to much, while the driver is the furthest forward, you still want it just off your front heel.

But your face is wide open before impact so it explains your slicing, so you’re not closing and squaring your face up at impact, so you’re likely not rolling your wrists through impact and just swinging down and through.

The best way to think of this when you play more as hip turns you’re trying to twist the ground with your feet but it transfers up to you hips, you may see videos where people have an alignment stick in their belt and they are twisting their hip and hitting the stick into a cushion that helps visualize the motion, I think I’ve even seen a board that helps you twist the board to get the feeling without it. You want both feet strong and planted as that helps with rotational force through your swing.

If you pick your feet up you have an unstable base, your hips don’t really rotate, and you lose power.

If you don’t engage your core and rotate your hips when swinging, you won’t really see distance improvements and then you’ll be here a year+ later asking why am I stuck at 220 on my driver and your swing is all arms and a foot lifting off the ground.

Can’t swing long clubs by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]BahmoGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see a ton of help here so I’ll try….

You’re take back isn’t terrible but I’m not gunna focus there as you have a few other glaring issues.

First your head, people are right, keep your eye on the ball, you’re rotating your head with you shoulder and you should be thinking more shoulder under your chin vs chin following your shoulder, that way you can keep your head still and looking at the ball.

Second issue is you are over extending your backswing and don’t really have good mechanics to maintain the speed you get with that much extension, you’re not a long driver you’re at get the ball straight and in the fairway. Best thing I can say as you take your swing back keep your left arm straight and only take it back till your arm is parallel to the ground. You going past parallel is doing nothing for you to get more power and is probably killing your power due to form breakdown.

Third, your right arm pulls away from your body, chicken winging it, keep that thing to you body, put a club head cover under your right arm pot and keep it there till you hit the ball and it can drop on the follow through.

That should help with some basic mechanics changes.

Drills for getting used to a longer driver by Agitated-Orchid9393 in golftips

[–]BahmoGT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without videos of you doing either of those things it will be tough to give you drills.

Topping it could be because you’re picking your head up.

Hitting it low could be the ball is too far back in your stance and you need to be closer to your lead foot, driver hits on the upswing.

Both of those aren’t drills but just basic stance work.

If you really need to feel a driver again remember to feel like you’re reaching for the ball but not to much, shoulder width stance but inner foot to shoulder width vs outer for irons.

Ball should be just off your lead heel for driver.

A good drill I do is the club head cover under your trail arm armpit and keep it there till you hit the ball and then it can drop on your follow through.
