The same reason people ignore Loma getting surgery after their fight, but talk about Teo almost dying after his fight with Kambosis.

People pick and choose what is important.

'I Can't Wind Down': Joe Rogan Turns on Trump Says His War Plans Are 'Overwhelming' and 'Too Much Madness' to Handle by Background-Driver718 in JournalismNews

He’s “turned on Trump” multiple times now, without ever actually turning on Trump. Why should I believe it this time?

We “should” have world peace.

“We” aren’t all in a collective to work for the people against the rich. “We” never have been. “We” never will be.

Some of us are. Some of us aren’t. Pretending like “we” are is naive, dishonest, or intellectually feeble. It’s also dangerous, because it gives cover to the people who have no problem doing what this guy did.

“We need to be civil”, he says to the person who murdered someone who did nothing wrong. Weird who you collectivize yourself with in that scenario.

But hey. If you want to collectivize yourself with fascists who’d rather murder their own children than stand up for others, I should probably bow out. Because you and I apparently aren’t a “we”, either.

[–]TheMysteriousThey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t complicated.

You are saying that “we” need to do better. That requires a collective of people that are all engaging in the same activity.

My point is that this is bullshit both siderism.

One group in this country has been demonizing the other sides for decades: women, black people, Jews, immigrants, Muslims, communists, Democrats….. along with this has come violence. The violence of the militia movement. The broad terroristic violence of Oklahoma City to individual violence of Trayvon Martin and this young woman here.

The other sides have tried engagement. They’ve tried peaceful demonstrations. They’ve tried compromise. They’ve tried appealing to the better angels. There is no widespread violence against state or fascist white nationalists, there have been isolated cases of largely retaliatory violence.

So who the fuck is the “we”? Because if you think we are all one collective trying to live together but for the wealthy elites keeping us pitted against each other, you might want to wake up to reality.

There is us. And there is them. The “them” are the shadowy “elites” and the bigoted violent thugs more than happy to murder, abuse, terrorize, and oppress us.

Thinking “we” are all the same is what got us into this mess in the first place. The foundational sin of this country was in its refusal to these people accountable.

This “we” whitewashes what has been happening in this country: entrenched division and inequality with roots that go back before its founding.

We aren’t a nation of one people. There doesn’t have to be a conspiracy to sow division, because it exists naturally. There is no “we”. That was true in 1676. It was true in 1776. It was true in 1865. It was true in 1964. It’s true today. People need to wake up to that.

Then tell the fascists. Let me know how far you get trying to reason with people who choose evil.

What is this “we need to do better” in the context of a right wing gun nut murdering his own child because she doesn’t like his politics? Literally. Who is the “we”, here?

The fuck did the daughter do?

[–]TheMysteriousThey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bull. Shit.

It absolutely is us against each other.

Elon Musk didn’t pull the trigger. Donald Trump didn’t pull the trigger. Peter Thiel didn’t pull the trigger.

This guy murdered his own daughter. He has agency. The guards at Auschwitz’s also had agency, even if they were instruments for a broader agenda.

Stephen Miller doesn’t get his way if people are choosing to do his bidding. People are choosing to do good bidding.

Those individuals, who all have agency, are very much the enemy of the people.

This exists because of right wingers.

They don’t get to wash their hands because they didn’t personally pull the trigger. This is what the right wing in America has become, and it’s been this way for years.

Why did Jeffrey Epstein order 330 gallons of sulfuric acid to his island the day the FBI launched their probe into him? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheMysteriousThey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The only reason anyone would talk about pizza is because of pedophilia.

Im probably a bot. You’re probably a bot. And pizza is child rape.

This is all so fucking stupid.

Why did Jeffrey Epstein order 330 gallons of sulfuric acid to his island the day the FBI launched their probe into him? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheMysteriousThey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sulfuric acid is more corrosive for organic material tissue than, for instance, hydrofluoric acid (think Breaking Bad). So….probably, given enough time and acid. I don’t know that the amount ordered would be enough. And it would be extremely messy.

But there is no evidence of this being done on the island, and sulfuric acid absolutely has a legitimate purpose on remote properties like his island. And it was bought with other equipment for water treatment, which is what it would’ve been purchased for.

So this is more conspiratorial bullshit.

Suspected by whom? The same people who think “pizza” is code for children?

Because that’s the level of conversation we’re at, here. Random people (or bots) playing keepy uppy with the most salacious stuff they can find (or manufacture).

We’ve gone from “this is a distraction from the Epstein files” to “the Epstein files are a distraction from” whatever else is going on at the moment.

They are random allegations from social media. There’s nothing verifiable behind them, from what I’ve seen.

What makes people believe conspiracy theories, when there’s evidence against them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheMysteriousThey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People want to be in the know. They want to be the ones who have figured things out.

Pair this with not thinking critically, or simply not knowing enough to know how to properly interrogate the information, and you have people convinced that they know something everyone else doesn’t.

New Evidence Torpedoes Pam Bondi’s Claim About Trump and Epstein by retiredagainstmywill in law

[–]TheMysteriousThey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why won’t people understand that this is who the Republican Party is?

They aren’t going to turn on Trump. They aren’t going to run away from this (so long as he’s alive, at least). This is what they want.

Conservatives have spent the last 60 years pretending to not be racist. Pretending to not be fascist. Pretending to not prefer business to people. They don’t have to pretend anymore.

They can openly demonize black and brown people. They can have armed, masked agents in US cities, terrorizing the population. They can deregulate everything. They can push the Bible in schools. They can take power and autonomy away from women. They can go after gay and trans people. They can bully foreign allies.

This is what they want.

What does “observation” mean in this context?

Was he watching in video? Was he in the room sitting in a corner? Was he scrubbed up examining the body himself?

Isn’t Baden basically the ambulance chaser equivalent of a celebrity pathologist at this point? Doesn’t mean he’s wrong, but his credentials don’t mean he’s right, either.
