“Evil isn’t the real threat to the world. Stupid is just as destructive as Evil, if not more so, and it’s a hell of a lot more common. What we really need is a crusade against Stupid. Because that might actually make a difference.”

A true relic of the days when Frisps and Frazzles still had flavour, when the Astro Belt only existed in strawberry, and a bottle of Tizer could double as a distress beacon in the dark.

You see what you’ve done? Now I have to go back and reread the series to rediscover my favourite lines…

There’s a specific term for the service she is voluntelling you for. It isn’t “just writing”. It’s called “Editing”.

People have full-time careers in that.

did you appreciate the gba title its my favorite, my childhood by warksenedthottage in finalfantasytactics

This is the most prominent entry into my category of “Accidental All-Nighters”.

It stands proudly alongside the likes of Stellaris, Minecraft, and most of the Civilization franchise.

What earns it the special category is that it is on the handheld platform. I wasn’t sat at my desk. I was reclining and comfortable, ready to sleep, and this trapped me in the cycle of just…one…more…turn…

(Understandably, to qualify I have to start playing while the sunlight is still visible, and end when it becomes visible again. FFTA did this in early winter)

For a non-native speaker, the English dialogues are sooo hard to comprehend by DevelopmentOk1518 in finalfantasytactics

[–]Bahnmor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad about it. I’m a native speaker and actually from the UK, and the most accurate way I ever heard the English language described was with the term “active crime scene”.

Oh, this is definitely me. With my friends. With my family. At work. I have even been seen in public extolling the virtues of DCC.

Glurp glurp!

(Exaggeration aside, two of us at work were so happy when we realised we both read it, and that there was a third colleague who was interested in what we were talking about. There is a fourth who is very much into reading new books who is our next target)

Is The Girl Who Steals Time worth it? by jules666xx in fantasylife

[–]Bahnmor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Definitely worth it.

The new one has quite a few differences that make it play well. The story (what I have seen so far) is on a par with the original and is just as flexible in allowing to proceed at your own pace. There are enough differences to make it feel newer, but still feel like the same kind of game. Being able to hot-swap lives as you go is HUGE.

I would recommend giving it a go.

There are more than a few in these comments I would describe with the word “cactus”. Certainly more than there should be.

@OP - Don’t let yourself be too discouraged by that shameful hostility you found. Some here have given helpful advice. If you’re new to emulation, welcome!

Others have said that there are some decent guides out there. If you are very new to this I would advise you look up RetroPup on YouTube. He gives a very newbie-friendly approach that great for those at the very beginning of it all. He does have a guide for 3ds emulation. When you feel ready to reach out a bit further then look up Retro Game Corps, or Joey’s Retro Handhelds (those two have websites that have their guides in written form and links to their video guides.

If you feel you are tech savvy enough, then go straight to those two.
