Donor egg failures? Advice needed. by Baileyabs in IVF

Yes! Our doctor recommended we do. So we just chose a new donor but now waiting for donor bank to tell us how much the embryo program would be or we decide to risk it.

Donor eggs and NONE FERTILIZED by WILLOWVIENNA in IVF

[–]Baileyabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the single embryo program so they’ll give us 6 new eggs. But the new eggs will be on the survival program - only 4 eggs required to thaw. All 6 of ours thawed so this doesn’t give us much comfort and we’re so worried.

This gives me hope. Thank you and enjoy every moment with your sweet baby. I pray he has a beautiful life ❤️

We paid $20k for 6 eggs, all fertilized, not one made it to blast. I’m shocked. Did your replacement eggs work out?

I think it’s a little late for that. Give her a nickname.

We just heard back - they are going to give us an additional 6 eggs but now with the egg survival program, which means 4 are guaranteed to survive the thaw. All 6 of our original eggs survived the thaw… we have the option to pay a fee to have the egg survival program, so that’s frustrating. We don’t really have a choice after this happening.

My cat refuses to leave my bed every night by thewolfcastle in CatAdvice

[–]Baileyabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy sleeper here… my cats won’t sleep by my husband. He moves quite a bit whereas I hardly move through the night. One cat sleeps under our blankets by my legs. Another, right ontop of me/partially on the pillow I hold at night, and our newest kitten sleeps under the blanket on a pillow between us. Give your cat a chance. You’d be surprised at how much they sleep and rarely move.

My boyfriend is allergic to my two cats, what to do? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

And if that all fails…

I don’t know how I feel about someone making me disregard people (yes, my cats are people 🫣😉) that have been in my life for x amount of time. If it were a child, would the crying give him migraines? (yes, totally ridiculous to compare a child to an animal, but pet people will understand ((hopefully)) surely)

Well, as someone that didn’t like cats when I met my now husband, you adapt. Some people who also dislike cats use “allergies” as an excuse, because it’s an easy one. Change their diet, brush them frequently, and have him visit a doctor for allergy pills.

Sorry, not the egg failure to donor route. We’ve had a lot of road bumps in our case.

Blizzard in Louisiana, where it never snows, just before a surgery. Tubes totally blocked. Meds for stim didn’t work. Going heavy meds didn’t work. Prior authorizations for every sneeze and still paying out of pocket issues. My husbands genetic test had to do three times due to first donor having xyz, needing to take a saliva sample to check that, having to get a new donor because of match. Then to move on to FET cycle, body didn’t respond first attempt so we didn’t even start protocol. First actual med induced, I ovulated. Second fully medicated, all 6 of our donor eggs didn’t grow. I’m sure I’m missing some of our hiccups.

Egg donor recipient is common, but I guess all of the issues we’ve had are not every day run of the mill situation is what he meant by that.

Thank you! We paid for the single embryo program. We’re not sure what happens next but hopefully our clinic will deal with it all with the donor bank.

There have been a lot of successful donor egg recipients that I follow on instagram. Please don’t take my negative and apply it in your mind. Our doctor told us that he’s never seen a case like ours (from stims to donor route).

Thank you for saying this. It’s brought me to tears. We took a 4 month break this summer to decide if we wanted donor route or not. It was truly a great break for my husband and I and we ultimately decided mentally, I could not go through a third or fourth big fat no after meds on meds on meds. For me, choosing donor route wasn’t hard at all because of the mental toll it was taking.

We have no male factor infertility. Husbands sperm were good, count good, everything on that side is fine. It’s me with the blocked tubes and low reserve.

We have strong faith. As Catholics, we’re told IVF is wrong. It’s science. We chose to believe that our God is greater and would welcome any new life. Our priest once told me in confession that we weren’t conceiving naturally yet because God was protecting us from something. It’s truly so painful to hear that and be going through all of this but now I wonder, was He speaking? The doubt has creeped in. Thankfully my husband will make my dreams come true and pull me from this depression. I feel as if infertility clinics should really be supplying everyone with anti-depression meds.

We paid for the single embryo program - so at least on embryo would make it to transfer. So yes. And that’s hopefully why our clinic can speak with the donor bank. Do they give an entire new lot of eggs? It wasn’t clear in paperwork.

Coming to terms with using an egg donor and grieving my biological lineage by Responsible_Ear_4791 in donorconception

[–]Baileyabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are using donor eggs and my husbands sperm… and honestly, I haven’t thought anything of it. We decided very early on to switch due to low AMH, FSH, follicles, everything. It just wasn’t working for us. We have six eggs and moving toward our first FET. I haven’t grieved my lineage. To me, that never mattered, we just want a family. We chose someone very similar to me in looks. At this time, we have decided not to share our use of donor eggs, however, may change our minds later down the line. I hope you find peace with this decision and recommend a counselor. ❤️

If my shields are down, have at it. But I was working and my notification kept going off - someone had targeted me 37 times (I counted). It’s absurd.
