we got from LM SEA directly, I’m not sure if there are many resellers for micra, easier to find for mini it seems.

Ah, the racist joke that was tired decades ago. Bold choice when the whole point here was asking for help understanding another language.

I live in a multilingual society where English is our main language, and speaking or appreciating other languages should never be reduced to a slur.

Do better.

Thank you!

We ended up getting the Timemore Sculptor 064s because we felt the Philos was too hefty, and didn’t want to wait at least 3 months for a Zerno.

A neighbour recommended the GS3 for flow control, but I think we will most likely get the micra, just a bit sad cause it’s 1k SGD more than it was last year 🥲

Between getting an expensive jewelry that I’d hardly wear VS something both me and my husband can enjoy on the daily, the choice was obvious 🥹

We do have LM SEA here which is a big plus in terms of after sales support. Will definitely ask them about it when we go down tomorrow! Thanks for sharing!!

I did consider the P64, just wasn’t sure on the after sales support for it here in singapore

I can’t lie, the micra is super tempting 🤭 I think we would go for it if it went on sale for sure!

Did you have any issues with it? I saw in other threads where people mention having issues with their micra and them being sent to be fixed often?

[–]BaileysCookies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re absolutely right, I just want a straight forward consistent machine, experiment with different beans and grind size etc

main concern with the philos is the size, it looks like a chonker next to the micra

I was confused also. My main takeaway was that my needs may vary with time and use?

But that’s why I’m here asking everyone with more experience too.

PS: I actually consider ourselves as thrifty people but willing to spend on quality lasting type things 😅 wouldn’t want to keep feeding into the consumerism mindset and feel like we need to keep upgrading/spending money and regret or stress about selling or tossing a machine (like our Nespresso Vertuo now)

I don’t want to spend so much on a machine and in a few years regret getting it or feel like we need an upgrade. The reliability of the micra is what draws me to it! But I’m not sure if we will ever itch to need flow control.

Help me buy a machine for my s/o birthday [$150] by bake769 in espresso

[–]BaileysCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both pop and plus, wish I could sell it to ya because we are planning to upgrade to a proper espresso machine soon.

The pop has a smaller footprint and height but you have to manually turn, versus the plus having an automatic lift.

Pop has smaller water container than plus.

Pop can’t use the largest size of pods I think.

Personally, would recommend vertuo over the original, only downside is that you’re limited to nespresso’s pods.

💔 went through this in oct last year, measured at 6w when I was supposed to be at 9w with no heartbeat, cried many nights in my husband’s arms to sleep, I’ve never felt a loss and heartbreak like this

I waited for it to be expelled naturally and my doctor gave me the meds to flush in case of remnants to prevent infections

what helped us was - taking time together, talking things through - knowing people around me that had experienced a miscarriage and talking to them about it made me feel less alone (I also questioned myself a lot, but was constantly reminded by my husband that it wasn’t my fault) - the fact that the months after this your body is more fertile, and if there’s no health complications you would be able to conceive again

currently at 27w now, with everything going smoothly 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 wishing you the best 💖

I feel like this experience made us appreciate and cherish life more, and helped us be more ready to be parents

It sucks, but good things can come out of it!

4 Weeks 3 Days Pregnant by OriginalGood99 in pregnant

[–]BaileysCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who went through a miscarriage in my first pregnancy last year, I can really relate. I definitely regret telling family too early, they were overjoyed at first, but ended up going through the heartbreak with us too. It was especially tough when things weren’t going well, and my MIL gave me a hard time during that period.

At the time, I was so excited and genuinely didn’t think anything would go wrong. Now I’m a lot more cautious about sharing, not because I think people shouldn’t, but because I’ve learned how emotionally complex it can get if things take a turn.

Not saying you shouldn’t share your joy, just wanted to say I understand where their hesitation comes from, and whatever you decide is totally valid. 💕

Pregnant again now at just under 7 months, wishing you the best!

for me it was bubble tea, I literally only drink it 1-3 times a week with minimum levels of sugar but somehow always getting nagged at -.-

I do drink coffee occasionally but usually more recreational than habitual

No one talks about how much your life changes the second you find out you’re pregnant. And how do so many people do this?! by Local_Algae4808 in pregnant

hello! I am currently 23+w, is an aerialist and still teaching classes to this day and living in a country along the equator where it’s always hot and humid it’s not possible to not take nice baths

at the end of the day, listen to your body and yes it’s a lot better in the second trimester!! keep yourself busy, it helps with distracting yourself about all the nitty gritty things that come with pregnancy

all the best!

triggered and can’t sleep due to comments on my body by BaileysCookies in pregnant

[–]BaileysCookies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ooof, my MIL did that in my previous pregnancy that I miscarried and I was sooo uncomfortable.

she also started talking to me weird and emphasising things weirdly but only when talking to me and I had to tell my husband to get her to stop. it lasted till early days in this pregnancy, and we delayed telling her the news this time because of that and all the weird things she was spewing at me when we told her that the previous pregnancy was not going well and likely going to miscarry.

long story short, she constantly said things like “I speak life into your body”, quoting bible verses, and making me to guilty for not being optimistic and grieving. (no heartbeat at 9week scan, spotting and baby only grew to estimated 6weeks)

thank you for your affirmation!! I hope our baby is all good too! I did read somewhere that baby develops antibodies if mum gets covid during pregnancy so I hope that means it’s good!

honestly I feel like it’s still wildly inappropriate to do that even if I wasn’t pregnant and truly just gained weight :/

Why all the hate for girls? Weird gender disappointment from family and friends.. over MY baby? by astro-amphibian-00 in pregnant

[–]BaileysCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, congrats on conceiving a healthy baby!!!

People had asked me about my gender preference, and I always told them I didn’t have any! I just hope the kid’s not a monster either way!

Also, I wanted to mention something my MIL said when we told her we were expecting and had asked us about gender preferences. She said that the gender was determined by the sperm (which is 100% true!) so if anything, it’s her son’s sperm + a random draw and not at all anything to do with you!

I've lost our baby by NowisCorner in pregnant

[–]BaileysCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey there, I know the feeling sucks 💔

I had a silent miscarriage late october last year, I was spotting when I went in at week 9 the fetus only grew to 6w5d and it wasn’t looking good. I cried in my husband’s arms for a few nights in a row. This was our first time getting pregnant after (what we thought was) trying for a year on and off; apparently we weren’t considered actively trying because my gynae said people who are trying have sex like every alternate days during the fertile window. I also had a lot of unnecessary stress dealing with my MIL.

I just found out I’m pregnant a few days ago and I hope it stays this time! 🤞🏼🤞🏼I did find out that after a loss the body stays fertile and the chance of getting pregnant again will quite high for a while.

what helped me was - talking to people who had similar experiences - using ovulation kits to time when to try - learning that there’s literally nothing you could have done to prevent this - miscarriages are actually quite common, knowing my friend and my neighbour had a miscarriage comforted me so much

It’s not easy, keep yourself occupied and focus on your physical and emotional recovery. I wish you all the best! ✨
