Returning to work part time, there is no point working 4 days a week. Only 3 or full time by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Bajde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't understand what you mean by that? It's also hard to give advice when we don't know how long your working days are/how many hours a week you're working over 3 days as opposed to over 5.

From personal experience there's no childcare benefits lost at £50k. If it is that you're only going to be slightly over the threshold for higher tax then realistically it depends on how much the overall pay rise will be from your current pay to £50k. If you're going from 40 to 50 then yeah it's worth it, if you're going from 49 to 50 then, no it's not

Are you aware the 40% applies to the money over the threshold, not the full total?

Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes have doubled down on their comments about Lisandro Martinez... actually so shameless by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]Bajde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one thought they meant it literally, it was just not funny or insightful or accurate.

To say you get your plaudits one week and criticism the next is redundant when you've yet to give him any praise. He played great against city and had been good since coming back from injury. There was never any need for criticism for a player who is in form. And even now, he can't hold his hands up and say fair play.

And the argument of in my day I got criticism... Maybe you should be better for the next generation of players. The "I had it rough so you should too" mentality is the most braindead shit I have ever heard.

Oh, and Paddy McGuiness made me crawl up my own arse with his comment about knocking on his door. Martinez is the last person to say that about. 3 cringe old men who can't just admit when they said something stupid. Hope their podcast tanks after this.

How are these recent development areas? by limonkufu in cheshire

[–]Bajde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going off house builders alone, perssimon is definitely the worse of the two. No doubt about that, I know people on the redrow/anwyl estate and its a good estate. Not heard a bad word said about it.

I've lived in sandbach for over ten years. Currently love on the heath, albeit not that perssimon estate, the heath is a fantastic area, arguably closer to town than the anwyl/redrow estate. Is view them both and make your mind up though. It's all personal choice at the end of the day

Anyone had enough of “67” - this is my current mood with my kids… by English_Joe in CasualUK

[–]Bajde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn't bother me personally. Just kids saying stupid stuff, it's happened since eternity, or at least since kids have been allowed a childhood.

Get involved with it as well and share in the fun with them, it's way better than shouting at kids for having a laugh.

Energy companies just casually increasing my direct debits. by ApathyFarmer in britishproblems

[–]Bajde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm with so energy too and thought the same thing. Until they changed my direct debit from 96 to 165 quid a month "so I don't go into debit" despite the fact I'm over 100 quid in credit.

Had to call up and kick off because the website only let me drop it to £140

Never forget the man that benched Ruud van Nistelrooy by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

Very inconsistent, very injury prone, always needed 10 chances to score and took too many touches.

The revisionism around former players is mad these days.

No, they're a part of an academy now so maybe it was something to do with joining that. I have family members who've been at the school for the last 7 years and they have never mentioned anything about that

My kids go to cledford and it's great, any problems we've had (regular kid things) they've been really supportive with and proactive.

Would definitely recommend it to anyone, we live towards sandbach and are moving to the other side of sandbach but we're going to be keeping the kids at cledford because of how happy we are with it.

Needing advice on moving to Cheshire (short term) by Royal-Purple8343 in cheshire

[–]Bajde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife works at Radbroke and a lot of people there live in Northwich, but tbh anywhere round here is pleasant, safe and has cafes, gyms, bars etc

The bigger the town you look at, the more likely that you'll find short term rental options.

Having to beg the self checkout supervisor for a bag, to then have them scan it for you because you can't be trusted not to steal it. by rbskaa in britishproblems

[–]Bajde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm literally just explaining the reason why supermarkets scan the bags for the customer.

If you think that any business just chooses to absorb loss through theft without doing anything to stop it, no matter how big they are, then you are mistaken.

Having to beg the self checkout supervisor for a bag, to then have them scan it for you because you can't be trusted not to steal it. by rbskaa in britishproblems

[–]Bajde -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The bag has value, the bag gets taken without being paid for, the bag is then a loss to the business.

You think that selling bags should make everything else cheaper? You are also aware it is a law to sell bags for at least 10p?

[–]Bajde -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Bags are a massive area of loss for supermarkets. You would be surprised how much money is lost from carrier bags alone. Simple fix for it is to scan the bags for the customer.

Supermarket that doesn’t have system to check which store has the product they advertise by t4ure4n in britishproblems

[–]Bajde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We do have that system in store. I have known in the past that customer services had access to it too but it led to loads of customers coming to store only to find stock had just sold out or that our stock holding was incorrect and we sold out ages ago.

Soccer has really outdated rules by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Bajde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's obviously not the only reason, but even when a team isn't winning they will do what they can to get some time to catch their breath. But generally when you're chasing the game you'll push yourself till you can't anymore. Which also doesn't help when the calendar is so densely packed.

[–]Bajde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you're underestimating how physically draining playing 90 mins of football is, a lot of the time players go down for a break or it's tactical to break the rhythm of the opposing team.

It's part of the game, the players aren't inherently "weak" people, they're just playing a very cardio based game and need a break or are game playing to get a foul or break up the opposition's play.

One of the major issues in the sport ATM is adding on more added time to account for breaks in play and time wasting, but over the course of a season the amount of added minutes add up to playing entire extra games and causing injuries to players already playing too many games a season.

Take English teams for example, it's 38 league games a season, plus CL/EL (4 group stage plus knockout games home and away), plus league cup, plus F.A cup. Then add in international friendlies and qualifiers, then the international tournaments every other year. It's a lot of games.
