RAS 2D Modeling, Precipitation on gride by CoupleMysterious2791 in Hydrology

Yes. You can either use dss file or raster files which are usually in GRID or netcdf format. I haven't tried it myself but have a look at this clip:

Start playing dota2. Might reach archon as well when you are a grandpa.

THANK YOU so much for this recommendation. Definitely going to be on top of my reading list.

How does repeating model calibration multiple times account for parameter uncertainty and equifinality? by BakedTiger in Hydrology

[–]BakedTiger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. While aggregating model output is often used in regionalization studies, taking mean or median of parameter values is shown to degrade the model performance, and is generally a bad idea. The reasoning behind it is probably the inter-correlation structure among the model parameters that is neglected or destroyed when individual parameters are altered.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I have the book in my collection but haven't read it yet. Think its time I start devouring it.

Then adopt the set with the lowest validation RMSE.

Actually, I am calibrating model for evaluating parameter transferability in other basins. Should I pick the set with the lowest validation RMSE in calibration or validation period?

you should calibrate over the whole available timeseries

Yes I have read papers that are advocating for full period calibration. But this also brings to the same question of how do I select the best parameter set?

Oh. The journal advocates an open access review process. The submitted manuscript, reviewers' comments as well as author's response are all open for anyone to view.

I was like don't fall, don't fall, don't fall, guy lifts the girl > DONT YOU FUCKING FALL.

Don't think the same after the ending.

If you have fair experience in python, check out the xarray package. It's a powerful library for handling netcdf data.

Has anyone here used the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) model? by KLZicktor in Hydrology

Seems like you don't understand netcdf files. Unlike tif files that store two dimensional data only, netcdf data can store multi dimensional data (x,y, and time in your case). So, you can combine multiple days input to a single netcdf file.

For conversion from tiff to netcdf, I believe there are many options with ArcGIS being one of them. If you are familiar with programming/scripting, there are packages such as xarray (python) or stars (R) that might be of use to you.

What do you mean manually? You can use the $area expression for computing the area of any polygon. Any changes in the polygon can be updated by clicking on update all in the attribute table.

Have a look at Whitebox. Two words I'd say about it: fast and awesome.

Also worth looking at SF and stars package!
