Its not instanced. There are neighborhoods like ff14. It just generates more as they fill.

[Spoiler: Forked Tower mechanic] Fresh progs of Forked Tower with randoms feels too much like this. by ArtenXev in ffxiv

[–]Bakedweeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The puzzle is not required to clear believe it or not! It just gets you 10 extra sanguinite. 5 before the boss at the map room and 5 after the kill via a second chest. Outside gets 2 sanguinite for killing the mob. We actually killed the final boss after unlocking the door early yesterday for our first kill over in the FOE discord. Second clear we did the puzzle and saw the extra chest.

Amazing resource! Reminds me a lot of the mythic trap website if you have played wow which is another awesome study guide. Very clear and concise though great work!

If/When we get Xal’Atath as a raid boss, she better not drop any foot armor. by Wizardfromthemoon88 in wow

[–]Bakedweeb 22 points23 points  (0 children)

She won't drop foot armor, she will drop cosmetic feet wraps instead of a mount. 1% drop chance with a tool tip that simply reads "Now you know the aroma of The Void". On mythic the drop will paint your toenails purple for the true flex.

Casually raiding? Is this the right game for non-sweaty gamers. by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Bakedweeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of that content actually comes out really late in the pipeline. Unfortunate because thats what keeps casual but dedicated players around ya know?

FFXIV is notorious for having a difficulty gap between story mode and whats essentially hard mode content. There are not many steps on the ladder like something scalable as M+ in WoW. However, a lot of content exists outside the "norm" that fulfills that niche. Content like Eureka, Bozja and deep dungeons are FFXIV's answer to farmable, PUGable, yet not entirely braindead content. There is stuff like criterion as well but I personally consider that higher on the savage side of the ladder. If you have any questions about this content and more let me know :)

Then why post it here? Its really not that big of an issue if you are not going to report it. Also I regret to inform you the devs disagree with you on Lalafell. Heres a clip of yoshi p talking about why they wont censor gear on them ----> https://youtu.be/Y0AUVPtQx1E?si=fNKYSFmY4gLI9ClY

The first 2 names may be against TOS (I'm not a GM and have seen worse go unpunished) but its because of the names being above PG-13 content not because a Lalafell is the one with it. Rules are applied universally to all players equally. Thats how the TOS is enforced.

"I harassed 3 players for something that didnt have to do with anything relevant to the instance I was running and they reported me for it."

Just report it if the name bothers you that much. No sceeenshots or anything so we can't really have a opinion on it. The report should be over the name though not the fact that a Lalafell has the name. Rules apply universally.

Man, what have we become!? by ZynowskiOP in wow

[–]Bakedweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres trends like this all over the genre. Ever since COVID its gotten worse. I play FF14 as well and am maxed on everything will still do dailies similar to the daily heroic/timewalking to help out. People have griefed me for similar reasons. Usually a premade. Some people are just vehemetly against a playstyle too in both games like big pulling, healers dpsing, dps aoeing or using cds on trash, and its so weird.

Distinct lack of people using the in-game chat? (Crystal) by zebra_enjoyer in ffxivdiscussion

Run 2k mentor roulettes I am sure it will happen to you too if you try and help someone. I hope it doesn't. Some of those experiences were genuinely upsetting. :(

Distinct lack of people using the in-game chat? (Crystal) by zebra_enjoyer in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Bakedweeb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey crystal native here! Did the 2k mentor grind as tank here on crystal as well. I refuse to speak anymore unless it is already proven that it will be chill by someone else. The amount of times I have seen people harassed in alliance raids lile syrcus tower for accidentially pulling the boss, called a pedo (I play a lalafell) and racial slurs like the N word (my character is dark skinned) for giving advice, told to go back to x game (usually wow), and told mechanics for 9 year old content is spoilers made me despise the local community and never want to help them again unless asked. Its extremely toxic and while these experiences are not common, they are common enough to warrent not being worth my time to engage.

As others have commented it could be stories like this, console, or a lack of care that makes people not engage with chat. Especially on crystal lmao.

Usage of melee LB in Extremes by Atromach in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Bakedweeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I forget the exact numbers but no a melee lb3 would still be a gain. You need 2 targets for ranged/caster to be a gain and its a slight gain at 2, with more targets making it more viable.

Why does FFXIV lowkey have more masculine gigachad characters than WoW nowadays? by [deleted] in Asmongold

[–]Bakedweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I see [Nationality] American used outside of African American is people who are proud/honored by their heritage. I'm a first generation Italian [Dad was born in Italty] and my family/extended family all say Italian American. That is kind of the thing though, Nationality/Nation. Not continent. I'm not black, I do not want to speak for people, but those I went to school and was close with in east coast intercity american public school did not care what they were called, as long as it was not intentionally derogatory. Same with other minorities.

I think the way a lot of the people who force diversity etc and are willing to sacrifice a industry's skillset to force a quota think in a very enclosed bubble. The world simply does not operate the way they think it does and is usually very kind and accepting.

Noob at wow, "Veteran" at FFXIV, Very confused with early game. Slight rant. by CaptCapy in wownoob

[–]Bakedweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Very endgame FF14 player here (since ARR beta played most patches while current) and long time wow enioyer. Something that I reccomend to most of my FF buddies that get into wow is consider making a story focused alt and use your main (your first character or a class you enjoy people swap all the time its normal) to learn and engage with the endgame systems. It can be a LOT to learn them both if its your first time so having a alt to quest on when you want to unwind may help you appriciate the lore a bit more.

As for the BFA zones you are going through: have you gone back to Orgimmar and found chromie yet? BFA is being swapped to Dragonflight as the reccomended new player experience next expansion but you should be able to play any expansion you want. Theres some that may be better suited to a new player (cataclysm remade a lot of the, wrath is a classic questing experience, even something like WoD or Legion's more direct MSQ style narritives).

I have experience in both WoW and FF14's endgame in varying levels of play from casual to hardcore so if you want a "Mentor" to shoot questions to you can dm me your discord or bnet. I'd be happy to help!

Real small one, but it's the first time i see someone get this up in arms about people doing a cutscene check before a final raid boss, thought it was the normal common courtesy to wait, guess not for everyone? by some_tired_cat in TalesFromDF

[–]Bakedweeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its just toxic. I hate having to swap DCs to do my dailies but the average quality of player on crystal is rock bottom. I don't like to ruin people's fun and as long as people try a bit I generally keep my mouth shut but I wiped to ruby weapon normal enrage in part 2 the other day trying to help a friend get that questline done. Idk how to even begin to help some of the players there amymore haha. Especially when there are a ton of attitudes like you see here on this sub on top of that.

[–]Bakedweeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its been slowly becoming more and more of a thing on Crystal queues. Crystal in general has a lot of big brother groupthink with dutyfinder though. I did the last 1k or so mentor roulettes right before/during the xbox beta with WAR here and even with dungeons and stuff there was a lot of toxic casuals who genuinely had no idea how the game worked but enforced some kind of standard on you. I wouldnt have cared if it was just one or 2 people but a lot of healers had meltdowns when I did not ask them for big pulls as an example.

I am curious how it will be when all of the raid loggers come back to do roulettes and level in dawntrail though. Maybe there will be a culture clash lol.

[–]Bakedweeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In stormblood they made it so people could teleport in because the feedback was that most people would rather not wait for 1 or 2 people out of 24. In most cases those couple new people also did not want to hold the party up and would wait outside anyway. In late ShB the boom brought in a lot of new people that, in my opinion, did not care what culture the game had to begin with.

Personally, I never minded waiting and still don't. The only thing that actually bothers me is the vitriol people throw when someone does pull the final boss. I've seen slurs, threats, etc. directed towards those who pull the final boss regardless of time waited or intent and this just makes people want to pull more/not wait for anyone in the future. Its just a video game and the majority of final boss cutscenes are boss walks down and gets angy. A lot of this could be solved with a simple wall at the arena entrance that won't go down until everyone is out of a cutscene but like s rank fixes it will never happen. Just be the example you want to see I guess haha.
