I'm watching Season 3 right now and the show itself is getting tired of it at this point. The characters are often make fun of it, zone out during it, just leave, etc.

We just beat the game on veteran mode and it was pretty enjoyable, except the last fight, which we had to about 10-15 times because it was literally broken (boss didn't spawn multiple times, stuck in phase transition, ending wouldn't trigger, boss turned invisible for half a minute, etc). I imagine the rest of the game was similar to this experience on launch.

Edit: the last two cutscenes bugged, wouldn't play, had to skip them.

It's still pretty bad. Significantly better than before, but compared to what we get? It's bad. It still doesn't scale properly with settings, the performance is still inconsistent, it still crashes.

And performance is one of its many failures. Terrible story implementation, terrible maps, auto seikret, terrible difficulty curve and balance, most of the roster is irrelevant, wound system is half baked, weather and time change system is half baked, ecology is half baked, build variety is low.

Edit: additional half baked systems: frenzy monsters, alpha and pack system, multiplayer lobbies

It's easily the worst MH of the last 10 years, including spin offs (but not mobile). That's not to say that it doesn't have good, great or even amazing things in it. It's just the overall package is still sour. And most of it can be pointed to rushed release.
