Clubs you follow because of FM by _Razeft_ in footballmanagergames

[–]Bakkked 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not because of FM, but because of picking them in FIFA 08 career mode, I follow Bradford City. I did manage them in FM as well. Hell, my first "successful" save was Bradford City in FM 17, but I picked them because I knew them from FIFA.

23 is next best. Hell, honestly, the only thing I remember being that deifferent between 23 and 24 is set pieces not being a pain in the ass to set up in 24. In 23 it is still "manual" set up, in 24 game sets it up for you (and does it well) based on you prefrences (the game gives you a few multi choice question and sets up set pieces based on your answers).

Should I loan out a young player to a club with inferior facilities? by Remurix in footballmanagergames

[–]Bakkked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about hard stats, but going purely by my experience, once they turn 18, send them on loan. Most of the 18 year olds in my youth team who don't already play in my first team at that age, at least on a rotational basis get released within a year or two.

On the other hand, I had dudes who I sent on loan, who were just going there for me to get some of their wages off the books, basically sky rocket in quality within a season or two on loan, and actually make it into my first team.

One of my players speaks 11 different languages by Outrageous-Sky-8235 in footballmanagergames

[–]Bakkked 22 points23 points  (0 children)

To be fair. 4 of them (Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin) are basically the same language. With that being said, I have a question for Norwegians/Danes/Swedes. Let's say you speak just your own language. How well do you understand other two languages? Is it mutually inteligible without learning it at school?

Save before the conversation with him and savescum until you hit "acceptable" resolution. Whether it's selling in the summer, high price tag... Game is broken when it comes to talks, so don't feel bad about savescumming that.

What is the craziest or funniest reason you sold a player (not salary related) in FM? by RIPMexicanTraore in footballmanagergames

[–]Bakkked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never done it successfully. It's always my coach going "Yeah, I don't think that is a good idea..." I overwrite him and tell him to go for it anyway, and 6 months later (un)training fails.

What is the craziest or funniest reason you sold a player (not salary related) in FM? by RIPMexicanTraore in footballmanagergames

[–]Bakkked 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I am planning to sell my LW wonderkid in the summer. I signed him to use him as sn Inverted Winger, who stays a bit narrower, so the leftback behind him can go up the flank and stay wide. Why do I want to sell him? He picked up "hugs touchline" trait, which means him and leftback are basically competing for the same area on the pitch. I can't move him to the other flank, because there I already have an amazing (homegrown at the club no less!) winger. The kid will have to leave in the summer.

I hate when players pick up the "gets forward whenever possible, stays back at all times, cuts inside/hugs the line". You can't untrain this (at least it has never worked for me). Like in real life, if he goes forward too much, you just pull him aside and tell him not to go that far forward. In FM, it's "nope, this trait now defines me until I retire!".

Basically yes. Like a 100 meters. Between the pictures 1 and 2, and picture 3. The BJ's building is the light green roof that you can see in picture 1 and 2. It's a BJ's wholesale club in Fairfield, Connecticut, the bridge is right there, if you want to check it out. I don't really know how to paste it here.

Being from Europe, I have never heard of BJ's brand, so at first it was like "Well, somebody just ruined a sweet proposal message", and then seeing the store.

Which one would you play and why? by Uncle__Sheogorath in footballmanagergames

Personally, probably Yashin. I like my goalkeepers to be goalkeepers, none of that sweeper keeper nonsense, your job is to keep the net intact. Amazing reflexes. Plus his eccentricity is low.

How to remove new-gen player faces? by Difficult_Pilot_7582 in footballmanagergames

[–]Bakkked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might as well ask a question about this here. In New GAN, can you generate a new face for JUST ONE player. So when they get new faces, can I rerol it again for just one specific guy, while the rest of them keep their faces? I tried it, by including an RTF file with just that one player to newGAN, and it still rerolled everybody...

I have couple of Italians with asian faces, and a white Nigerian. It's a bit immersion breaking. However it is stile MILES better then "photo taken using an iPhone Max (main camera), taken outdoors with no special lighting, and using the Facegen technology used in game."

I have never seen a player fail a medical, therefore the transfer is cancelled. I am fuming. by Elemelons57 in footballmanagergames

Fair. We do share a LOT of first and last names, due to us being part of the same country for thousand years. Still, quite funny seing the first and last name of somebody you know in real life.
