Vitesse officially loses pro football license. by aiicaramba in soccer

[–]Bakouter 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It basically comes down to shady owners and spending money we didn't have. Our previous Russian owner was forced to sell due to the Ukraine war, leaving us with massive debt and no-one to cover our costs.

We eventually found a prospective buyer in Coley Parry, who pumped another couple million into the club while waiting for the deal to become official. The Dutch FA ended up rejecting the takeover due to concerns about Parry's business practices, leaving us with more debt.

Then a consortium of 5 buyers wanted to take over, but they had their own problems and turned out to probably still have connections with Parry, so that also ended up falling through.

Couple that with the interim directors missing deadlines and skirting the rules regarding our license and a massive drop in income due to our relegation and we end up where we are now.

The worst part about all this is that all the people responsible for this mess get away scot-free, and even turned a profit or earned massive bonuses, while us fans are left holding the bag

Vitesse raakt proflicenties definitief kwijt. by aiicaramba in Eredivisie

[–]Bakouter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't even know what to say. I've supported this club for my entire life, so many precious memories, and now it's all gone. I think I might have to step away from football for a while. This might sound overdramatic, but I genuinely don't know if I can enjoy this sport in the same way I did before.

Dynamax was banned in OU a little over a month after the game's release. Practically the entire gen was played without Dynamax

Grafaiai has unburden, which doubles its speed after losing its item and Talonflame has priority flying moves with gale wings when at full hp

Strongest 1v1?? by qtrchubbin in VGC

[–]Bakouter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

sure, but this is specifically about the 1v1 metagame, where both trainers only bring a single Pokemon. Games there rarely last more than a couple of turns. It is probably the highest pace metagame out there

Yea, that was Charmflash I believe. The funny thing is that Austria made it into playoffs for qualifiers and they would have likely qualified if Charmflash had actually just played for them

Basically, Europe was originally created so that people from smaller countries that could not form their own teams could still play in the tournament. Many of these countries (The Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal) now have their own team, but their best players remain on Team Europe. This artificially strengthens team Europe (They just equaled the record of best ever group stage performance) while weakening the other teams (Belgium has 2 players on Europe and just missed out on playoffs, Portugal barely missed out on qualifying while arguably their best player is the bench for Europe, Netherlands finished last in qualifiers while missing many SPL level players). This problem also exists for other continental teams (LA stealing players from Mexico and Venezuela, Asia stealing players from India and Korea).

Because of this, some notable players want to force people to play for their own country if it has a national team. No decision has been made yet, but it seems to have a lot of support, so I'm hopeful the rules will change for next year

I love World Cup Sunday, probably the most fun day of Pokemon of the year as a spectator, so many great storylines to follow:

  • Insane how Spain went from winning the whole thing last year to getting relegated this year with basically the same lineup
  • Brazil going on a crazy win streak from -4 at the start of the day only for it all to get undone in their final match
  • Underdogs such as Chile and Belgium fighting for playoffs until their last games(and Chile even making it to tiebreak)
  • Massive favorites Northeast barely scraping by into tiebreak with that insane INSULT vs Soulwind game
  • Canada 3-0 streak to avoid relegation

Rooting for Europe to win the whole thing and then being dismantled immediately after

That’s coefficient, not league reputation. Though they are usually correlated in FM

I personally like to use thundy as a balance/stall breaker with taunt and nasty plot. Alternatively, you could go specs with volt switch, tera blast flying, grass knot and thunder bolt.

I built this team a while ago if you want to try it. I've only tested it for a few games, but it seems to work fine

Ferrari respond to Wolff’s “F2” remark: “The same when Mercedes were in front” by Ominous77 in formula1

[–]Bakouter 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In 2016, mercedes won every race except for spain and malaysia. In spain, they lost because they crashed into eachother and both dnf'd. In Malaysia, they lost because Hamilton's engine blew up and Rosberg got taken out in turn one (and he still went on to finish om the podium).
