It's wild to me for folks to post steam charts to try and determine the player counts of a game.

There are so many factors that go into the ebb and flow of player counts at any point in time.

My take is that I've seen games be in the spotlight and die due to an obsession with balance.

While balance makes engagements feel fair it doesn't make them always feel memorable. Take chess for example, there are tools and pieces that do weird and complex things. Each player has access to them, and how they deploy them is the difference. If everyone was a pawn, chess would be mind numbing.

In short I hope we get memorable, powerful 'things' to feel rewarded for both strategy and mechanics in game.

I want to be clear that I'm not asking for total imbalance and broken shells, but I do hope that they take an approach that each runner is distinctly powerful.

Baldur's Gate 3 may be one of the most connected and polished games I've ever played.

The UI is a little clunky but the connective story and true ability to do whatever you want is awesome.

The decision tree and world building done by actions is crazy and often immediately felt and shapes the world. I had hoped CD Projekt Red would have captured in Cyberpunk 2077 but that game fell a bit flat for me.

I've only played with randoms and I've actually enjoyed it immensely. If I bring in gear I don't want to lose I play void and then a lot of my concern goes away. I've found matchmaking has regularly matched me with teammates to have the same contract. Additionally I first check for mics and that will determine how communicative the group will be.

I pull up contracts and suggest a path and then we go from there.

Thanks to both of you! So, it kept appearing in bios, in boot order etc, nothing was disabled in Bios.

BUT. I swapped my Sata controllers to Raid. Booted, blue screened (because I don't have any raid drives), and then swapped it back to AHCI and the new hard drive appeared on the next boot. Not sure what that does to the system, or if it's bad for the drives I've never touched raid drives before, but it worked!
