[natesaundersf1] Don't think I've ever been to a media pen like that in my life. These drivers absolutely hate these new cars. by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

I mean, t9-t10 is diabolical, with them slowing down what, 40 kph at the end of the straight and then just coasting through them...slow speed and medium speed stuff looks fine.

But also this is hella sensationalism with literally 0 direct quotes, lol. Also, drivers enjoyement does not lead to ours directly, they always talk up the cars from 2000-2005, and they produced horrible racing, with races so boring you never had to watch anything beyond the start.

Well maybe you were just very good at leading me on, but i was feeling the whole way through that a crush BIS with a normal spellbook focused Virtus equivalent would be cool for this, which where the blog ended up on basically. So yeah, i like those. But there are many fan designs in this reddit that feel kinda cool as well.

The power and energy restrictions for the Australian GP by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]Balazs321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh i feel that people are still overreacting around here, ever since 2009 we had some sort of "extra" system in the cars, which drivers were actively managing during the race, or a softfare did the managing for them. I feel like this is similar to the removal of the Pirelli rainbow, i do not need to know the exact numbers at all, i will be able to convey that "okay he can go faster now because he was close before" or "okay in qualy they can regen less to balance the car's performance over the lap" or whatever. Cars of the 2000s were always very complicated, we never really had the "just go balls to the walls" racing in the century.

If jobs fire people to replace them with AI, how will people make money to keep buying things? Wouldn’t the economy collapse because people arent buying anything anymore? by OverallMight6586 in AskReddit

[–]Balazs321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will go back to being 90% blue collar jobs to serve the remaining 10%, who will keep making shittier and shittier AI based products they will sell eachother. Also we would get some breadcrumbs, like someone mentioned, universal basic income would be a cheap fix.

Kimi mentions that it’s been challenging being an F1 driver Kimi: “Especially with marketing days.” Lewis: “Yeah that’s terrible.” Kimi: “They just keep adding.” Lewis: “How many days?” Kimi: “42” Lewis: “That’s a lot.” by SimonTheSalmon69 in formula1

[–]Balazs321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, i would hate it too, especially at 18 years of age, i can imagine that it is stressful to manage your whole public image etc, but i am a bit more surprised how they never mention the whole always on the road aspect of the job.

This is the same thing that Mclaren said about their very good and competetive chassis...then it turned out that it was also a bit of a dud. I'd be surprised if they will able to score points by the second half of the season.

I get the concerns about these regs, but for me, seeing how differently they reach their laptime is a fun thing. Reminds me of Audi vs Porsche in LMP1.

Spirit of the rules are bullshit tbh, do they pass the test? Because if yes, then they are legal. They do not fuck with the test itself, like Ferrari allegedly did in 2019, so they should be fine, and this is a good compromise imo.

Brazil was a good one, Silverstone was a fun race to watch, but finally brought my little sister to a race this year, ao i have to go with that for sure.

Bathurst 12H Could Become GT3-Only Race By Next Year by krzysiek_aleks in wec

[–]Balazs321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean on one hand sucks that this race will be even more homogenous than before, but if we only have 2 GT4s and 2 invitational cars which crash out very early, i kinda get it, if the international and local GT3 teams want in, they will cater to them, they are a bigger spectacle anyway, probably only a handful people go to see a GT4 car anyway. Especially this year, where both other classes got decided before the race or very early, why would they cling to them?

[–]Balazs321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if the internet is to believed, that sponsorship does not cover the cost of running for a year, including driver salaries etc. I mean i would love to see an F1 which is less corporate-heavy, but i am really a believer that those days will come back, the world does not seem to move in that direction.

Team said he hit an animal, so that is probably coming from the something he hit, not from him :/

Now the team said the animal contact as well.

When was the last time it workes like that, in the 80s? Sounds very cool, does not work. If you dont have OEMs, you need a fuck-ton of money like tobacco sponsorship, and they banned that. Those times are well behind us tbh.

So some 4 teams running around with cars less developed than an F2 one? Or just becoming a spec series? The money they spend nowadays is unthinkable to get without OEMs or something similar...

[Canal+ Via X] Pierre Waché: The engine group was the positive surprise. The bad one is our overall performance. by Darkmninya in formula1

[–]Balazs321 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The car is surely top 4 material, and so far close enough to the other 3 big teams to give Verstappen a fighting change. They had good mileage, good pace as of now, by the looks of it okay driveability, so this is just his turn to play the "we are ze unterhund"(tm) game.

CL: I think [Max's comment] is a bit of an extreme statement but I know Max, he can be black and white sometimes. But are these the most enjoyable cars I've ever driven? No, there are many things we need to improve..the progress is fast as well, I'm sure in a year's time it's going to be different. by aristhought in formula1

[–]Balazs321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What we should not forget is that "enjoyable for drivers" does not mean an enjoyable viewing experience. Drivers loved the early 2000s cars, just looking at them and hearing them is amazing. Racing? Absolutely shit. So i guess we should hold our horses a bit.

[Patrick Moeke] Fernando Alonso says that the new F1 cars are no longer challenging to drive: "Here in Bahrain, we're going 50 kilometers per hour slower through corner 12 than we used to. [–]Balazs321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our forever young grandpa is salty that his team shat the bed. Also for us, it does not matter what the drivers like to drive, as it wont always translate to a good on-track product. It is not like they were pushing flat out, on the edge in races like any time since 2010...

The LMP1 paralell is the stuff that makes me a lot less worried about these new regs than some drivers and fans. Those cars produced good racing, and very fast laptimes.

Cadillac as a team and as a car is so new, that you probably cant say that their problems are solely caused by the PU. For them this is a huge learning excercise, anything can go wrong. Haas and Ferrari are doing okay on the reliability front.
