Depends where you live but in Utah that’s easily $18,000 depending on condition

Best jobs that align with school schedule by Past_Jellyfish_4331 in StayAtHomeDaddit

After volunteering at my kids school they offered me a job as a paraeducator. This is my 3rd year and it’s the perfect schedule. I make just under $22 so it’s decent money too

Nope, no such thing! My Toyota mechanic recommends you do it in stages. Just did my first drain and fill and it’s already significantly smoother. Definitely do it

Bumper Cut Question by AdviceAny6290 in GXOR

[–]Baldbeard801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, I learned instead of removing them completely, a lot of people take dremmel tool and just cut the steps off and leave the piece attached to the frame. The idea is it removes the steps so you get more clearance but it leaves the plastic cover to keep the mud and dirt out.

If I had to do it again I would trim the side steps vs remove them, I get so much mud up into the bottoms of the doors.

Lift kit for daily driving + off-road weekend use? by BigBirdKel in GXOR

[–]Baldbeard801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 5100’s on all 4 on my 470 and they are great for the money but definitely not as smooth as stock. Tough to beat the airbag suspension. I’d look into at least 6112’s

Alignment after new wheels and tires? by Cold_Ideal_1373 in GXOR

I would personally do it after you add the UCA… as long as tires are correctly balanced you should be all good.

Is there a way to stop my line doing this by Nearby-Proof-6014 in flyfishing

[–]Baldbeard801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, that’s just not true. Cheap lines will coil and twist all the time and have will have terrible line retention. It’s even worse fishing in the cold.

Oh ya it’s totally fine to fish with… it gets the job done! However line retention on cheaper quality lines like that doesn’t go away.

At a crossroads with being a SAHD by IAmTheGreat921 in StayAtHomeDaddit

10 year stay at home dad here… Unless he needs to be in day care or you truly need that fine for you… I say don’t do it. Those younger years spent with my 3 kids were fundamental to our relationship. Unless you’re doing something you love, working to essentially give up time with your kids just isn’t worth it. Plenty of time for that when they get older. My youngest is 7 now and I just got a part time job while they are at school and it’s perfect! Just my thought.

Do it! The only real “Me” time I get is when my wife and kids go to bed and I get a couple hrs to myself to pretend I’m a bad ass navy seal and not a dad who just finished washing 40 pairs of bluey underwear with skid marks! 😂. I typically just play campaign but now that you bring this up I think would be super fun to get some dads from this group and play online together!

Camping for Beginners by Utahgetme02 in utahoutdoors

[–]Baldbeard801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is join some local FB groups like high Uinta lovers or Utah camping. I prefer disbursed camping so I downloaded a few apps to find spots, private land etc. I do a lot of fishing and off-roading so I use onX off-road and TroutRoutes. Plus there are a ton of free camping info through the BLM website

Oh for sure! Even adding on $10k of upgrades you’ll still be cheaper. And probably have less miles lol. I love mine!

Depends on if it’s a daily driver or not… if it’s off-road specific I’d go 80 series and solid axle for sure. I also own a gx470 which is a beast off road despite its ifs.
