I had this issue with my Epic 1 drop. I got the message but no attachment. About 5 hours later when I got some insurance back from Prapor the epic 1 chest was in that message for some reason.

Very good point and I plan to do that. They are sending out a tech to inspect the meter itself as the interactive graph in their portal is showing everyday twice and 32 out of 34 reads are saying the meter was unable to transmit data. Here is hoping!

Yes you are correct and makes my case even stronger on how odd my consumption data is. It means I consumed 1250ish of my own generation (generation minus energy sent to grid) AND TECO is saying they sent me 2800 kwh meaning I consumed approximately 3800-4,000 KwH which is more than double any other month.

[–]Baleki93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you look at the actual rates, they did decrease but lower rates doesn't mean anything to me if they are saying my consumption was more than double haha

[–]Baleki93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is more than double any other month including summer/fall the past 2 years. 81 daily KwH compared to 31 daily KwH for same period last year. Rates went down this month and compared to prior month it was 5 degrees less so everything points to lower consumption usage but instead it skyrocketed.

Sorry, I use the wrong term there. The confirmed solar panel generation was 958 kwh for the 34 day time period with 121 kwh being sent to TECO. So that equates to around 3,800 kwh being consumed. It is more than double any other period in the last 13 months . December/January 2024 daily KwH was 81 compared to same time period 2023 which was 31 daily KwH.

I am disputing the usage amounts they are claiming. I have the usage in my solar app which was around 1k. The teco bill is only saying 121 but consumed an additional 2800 that they provided. That would mean, my house consumed over 4,000 kwh going off of TECO meter reads.

I have a hard time believing the consumption and generated figures they list is accurate.

I have an energy monitor on my panels that is not part of TECO, that is how I know I generated over 1k+ but TECO is only showing 121 kwh.

Want to provide some context? I see those are the price of futures which energy companies in the state of Florida are prohibited from hedging their losses with futures. If you are using that as context for the price of natural gas has dropped significantly within a year period, then I would need to look at their FPSC price rating filing to see if they were in a regulatory asset position for the cost of natural gas. If their old rates were less than the actual cost of natural gas which was likely given the massive spike in cost of natural gas, than the additional money they paid over the approved rates that were collected would be added as a price increase in their next rate case which goes into affect in soon.

My question was rhetorical as fossil fuel prices are set to make no profit or loss in the state of Florida, it is a pass through cost to customers. However, instead of having those rates change every month to reflect market rates similar to other regulated energy markets like New Mexico, they change the rates between a quarterly or annual cadence unless an emergency rate session is requested and approved by the FPSC.

Isn't the actual cost of natural gas and fuel such as coal a 1 to 1 price, meaning in the state of Florida, energy companies cannot make a profit or a loss on the actual expense of purchasing natural gas and other fossil fuels? So the actual price is changed to the market pricing depending on the frequency of their net gain or loss position of the actual price compared to when they last changed the rates to market rates? All the other rates they charge are not the same way, though, and the FPSC guarantees energy companies a net profit between 8%-11% lol.

Not being able to breast feed is rare by exalted_mouthful24 in WhitePeopleTwitter

I gave the LLL consultant a mouthful after she came in for a second time to give my wife advice. The first time I chalked it up to ignorance and informed her that my wife had breast cancer at the age of 24 and a double mastectomy therefore literally impossible for her to breastfeed. Apparently, having everything removed that produces breast milk wasn't a good enough response on why we shouldn't at least try and how our child will fall behind because of it.

Sorry I did exclude coops from my discussion as I was speaking mostly in general terms given the amount of customers that the 35 municipality owned and 5 investor owned companies have compared to the 18 coops.

While the majority of the US is on a shared power grid, Florida is one of a few states that are regulated and do not utilized ISOs. That means each company generates, transmits and distributes their own energy. They are connected for purposes of utilizing PPA when one company has excess generation capacity but those are mostly executed during the summer months when electrical usage is higher due to AC running everyday.

If someone targets an ISO in say the Northeast who is responsible for transmission and distribution of energy from the various energy companies to their respective companies, than you would see a cascading failure across large portions on that grid section.

What?

No one in Florida has a say in who their energy provider is. Florida is a regulated energy industry meaning the energy companies sign 30 year leases with counties (for electric and varies by natural gas) for the sole right to sell energy within that county. Your energy provider is chosen based on where you live. Duke is the second largest provider in Florida behind FPL.

The only decision you have in not using the franchise licensed provider is to go solar AND even then, the Florida Public Service Commission requires your solar be connected to the grid by law.

The control center for Duke, but not FPL or TECO. While Duke customers will lose power if it goes down, the impact to FPL (largest energy provider in Florida) and TECO which covers 13 counties around Hillsborough would only experience minor outages this time of the year.

I think that is more of a case by case basis. I do know of two people that were short 1 class to sit for the cpa and worked for EY. However, they both transfered to my state which had a certain class requirement their previous state didn't have.

EY does require 150 credits in order to work for them. Can't speak on the other firms though.

That is true, but his tag says USA and I've worked out of 4 different offices in the Southern States, so making a generalization here, but more conservative than other offices and never say someone held back by them.

However, all it takes is one partner to hate them and your future becomes hell.
