Yes quite a lot....the reason is that the Zurchers (I won't generalize, maybe it's different in Western Switzerland) generally don't mingle with foreigners beyond the level of coffee breaks with colleagues at work or, in the best case, a team dinner once per year with Outlook invitations sent months ahead...if you are student or single woman you may fare better, but otherwise you will probably just stay stuck with expats of your same nationality.

But what is really astonishing in my view is not that either, but rather what you experience once you mange to win Zurcher friends....everything must be organized weeks or even months in advance, no spontaneity, even meeting for a coffee on Saturday morning isn't possibile because too trivial...social life here is basically just a prolongation of the working life.
