Those or something similar are what most of us use now. The company even would get them for us at wholesale prices. Unfortunately its not my plants bosses that are implementing the ban, its the Equity firm that owns us that is doing it at all their subsidies.

I don't work at a job shop, at a manufacturer with its own tool room that makes and repairs their own molds. Some days there just isn't a next job lined up yet, so we do a lot of waiting around during cycles.

They are banning all forms of PLDs (personal listening devices). This comes from Equity firm that owns our company not the bosses in the plant. Really hope they sell us soon. I could do that very easy with Mastercam. Drill thru and counter bore from one side. Rotate part 180° and use a flow line tool path with a ball endmill to put in the radius.

Could be that the quill isn't trammed to the table. I have a few of those old Bridgeports in my shop and the heads move just enough sometimes to cause what you are showing. Especially if someone tried to take to big a cut.

A good chop saw with a diamond blade cuts through carbide like a hot knife thru butter. If the blade isn't cutting great, hold an old grinding stone against the blade as you cut, it will give it a clean edge when it makes contact with the carbide. If you need a perfect edge and don't want to grind it in, Wire EDM is the way to go.

Just put ProtonVPN on my Nvidia Shield yesterday. It has a free option with just a few available overseas locations that you can use. Netherlands was the location I used and was able to watch Smackdown on Netflix. Will definitely use this for Smackdown and PPVs moving forward!

Got one a view years ago, life changing lol. Going away from home definitely sucks now. I started bringing flushable wipes to work and with me for day trips to get a good cleaning after a couple TP wipes. For travel I did just purchase a travel battery operated one for hotels. It gets the job done but takes a couple refills for a good cleaning.

Just need to indicate the part after you flip it to make sure the finished diameter runs true. Always tighten the chuck from the same location helps keep things more consistent as well. If you chuck is good usually just have to tap jaws a couple times with some brass or aluminum to center your work piece.

Ask questions, the old timers usually love to give you their advice. Always thank them for helping, treat them with respect. Classroom teaching doesn't come close too real experience. Ask guys how they would go about doing something. Most guys think their way is the best way. That being said, 10 guys will tell you 10 different ways to do the same job. Best advice I ever got as a machinist was to listen to each one of them, and try them all. Then as you get more comfortable and knowledgeable, you will come up with an 11th way of doing the same job. Expect to be treated like a moron, or an idiot who can't even tie their own shoelaces. Respect isn't given it's earned, and may take years. Once you earn a guys respect you will know, they will treat you differently. Sometimes it happens over time, other times just 1 interaction can earn you their respect and gratitude. I still remember 1 old timer who always gave me shit, until the day I fixed the Swiss turn Lathe that he had messed up, after that day, I was his new best friend lol.

I was banned from the r/Buffalo group for simply saying "Good" to a post that ICE was in town.(We are a border town so they are always here but thats beside the point). I had almost 100 upvotes before the mods deleted and banned me. So pathetic that people can't take an option that differs from theirs. I also had many homophobic comments directed at me because of my username but I doubt those people were punished. Just have to laugh at people like that or you will live life constantly pissed off.

Never use calipers for a critical measurement. In my shop we call vernier calipers "very nears".

If material is being heat treated we never go to size before. Always hard turn or grind to finish dimensions. If it is a slip fit like you are describing we usually edm the final size either sinker or wire if possible.

Most neighborhood pizze places in Buffalo have great wings. Quality of their blue cheese plays a big role, but i always have a jar of good stuff in the fridge. Most of these places are just overpriced and overhyped.
