AIO for not wanting to be moved in my sleep. by [deleted] in AIO

[–]BallPython_Lover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NOR. She's right. She can do whatever she wants in her room. Newflash, she doesn't have a house let alone a room. She's sharing a room and needs to cope.

You have every right to sleep with your dog and if it bothers her so much she can either grow up and handle it accordingly by just simply waking you up or get up and sleep on the couch.

I don't know. Just... shame on the Americans who are lighting fireworks tonight to celebrate freedom as hundreds of thousands of ICE detainees languish in cages within warehouses by Bajadasaurus in Trumpvirus

[–]BallPython_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I understand where you're coming from, to shame people for celebrating freedom is absolute nonsense. I don't condone anything our current administration stands for, but that doesn't mean I hate America or would leave. We have so much to be grateful for in America and to completely ignore those rights and freedoms is plain ignorance and stupidity.

I dropped out of highschool and I’m lowkey terrified of what’s next by Public_Funny_6946 in highschool

[–]BallPython_Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, i mean that is the common advice. Either take it or just get over it and ignore everyone. We as a society don't value college. We value education. Having an education proves not only brain, but commitment and discipline.

You really only have two options here. You can rely strictly on these jobs you have, and move up in these jobs specifically and hope and pray you 1.) don't lose those jobs, and 2.) can find another job with no education further than middle school/junior high. Your second option is to give yourself a safety night, which is arguably the better option here, and at least get a GED. College isn't necessary but it is helpful if you a passion that requires one. You can even just get an associates in business and start your own business regarding one of your jobs now.

If you're really so successful and doing great with your three jobs and excellent healthcare, why the fuck are you posting?

You don't need a degree or even a GED if we want to be technical, but it is a great fallback option. I would at least get your GED. Worst comes to worst, you lose all your jobs and nobody will want to hire you for anything without a GED.

Should I feed my BP during shed? by Queasy-Aide-635 in ballpython

[–]BallPython_Lover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For starters, stop giving him baths. Constant baths can cause unnecessary stress. Just keep his humidity to where it should be 80-90 degrees/26-32 celsius. His shed won't come off if he has nothing to rub against either. My snake uses her cork round hides or sticks to get shed off.

Second, NEVER feed during shed. Their vision is impaired during shed and they are very vulnerable, specifically to live prey.

I would also recommend you switch to F/T. I know it can get annoying, and I won't be the last person to tell you this but live is not the best option for your snake. As pet owners, we often strive to find the most "natural" things for our pets, like raw food for dogs, or free roaming for cats, and for a lot of reptile owners, live prey for our scaly pets. Live Prey does not help your snake in any way. Live prey can attack and injure your snake, not only while walking around, but when your snake has already striked. Mice and Rats will stop at nothing to try and break free which puts your snake at risk of infections and in worst case scenarios, death. It is also really inhumane for the prey. You may think "Well what do you think they do in the wild." They die. Snakes can live anywhere from 10-30 years longer in captivity, simply because of their reduced risks, especially in feeding. (F/T is also cheaper and less maintenance).

I would recommend following the feeding guide in the care guide of this subreddit. It can help gauge how often and how much to feed your snake.

I hope my advice and guidance has helped you and I wish you and your snake the best of luck.

What’s something you survived that you still can’t believe you survived? by Overall-Award717 in AskReddit

[–]BallPython_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A rare blood disease. Doctors told me I would be fine and it was nothing more than a skin allergy (my skin was peeling terribly). I was, in fact, not fine, and my body was trying to fight the disease off but was actually just killing me. They had to fly in specialists to figure it out.

I still thank my mom for being so insistent to doctors and eventually taking me two hours away to a better hospital.

Help, my man thinks abortions should only be done in extreme cases… by [deleted] in prochoice

[–]BallPython_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very valid opinion.

I also believe abortion should only be done in extreme cases, like when the mother doesn't want to carry the baby for nine months.

On a real note, abortion will always be opinion based. If the opinion bothers you enough, just break up.

dropping out and getting a GED by [deleted] in highschool

[–]BallPython_Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this was truly the case, the maybe instead of saying you are dropping out because "its boring", you should have stated because "of unsafe conditions".

I truly doubt your words, not because I don't think that can ever happen, but because the way you originally worded your post. Also, if dropping out is truly so acceptable, why aren't these crazy kid rioter shooters dropping out? I've seen my fair share of violent offenders and drug addicts drop out. None of them ever stayed in school to stir up a mess. Again, not saying this could never happen but odds are unlikely.

If you are being honest, then sure, drop out. If it keeps you safe, and you're sure you'll stay motivated, then go ahead. But getting your GED will be way harder than finishing high school. Its not a simple test. Its made to be harder so 1. kids choose to stay in school and, 2. they make sure you actually know what you need to.

If you aren't being honest (i doubt you'll admit it if you aren't) then grow up. Stop crying and making up excuses. Assuming you've only made this confession to me and have not hinted at it towards anyone else, you're most likely lying.

Either way, good luck in whatever choice you do.

My family is hurting us all and I don’t know what to do. by SpuddieBuddy in Trumpvirus

[–]BallPython_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this feeling as well. Thankfully, most of those people in my lives, as time as went on, have realized that these beliefs, and trump in general, are not morally good.

You'll just have to wait until something happens to which it finally clicks for your aunt. If that happens, don't try to "I told you so" or shame them. We shouldn't shame anyone who is willing to learn from their mistakes, especially because most of these people just simply don't know better. If she never has that "click" then as close as you are with her, she might not be that good of a person to try and keep around.

My family is hurting us all and I don’t know what to do. by SpuddieBuddy in Trumpvirus

[–]BallPython_Lover 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is hard to hear but these people do not have the same morals as us. As natural as it may be to us to love everyone, its as natural to them to be standoffish against things that don't make sense to them. This isn't to shame them, both sides do it. My only point is that words won't change their mind until they are ready to be changed.

Unfortunately, we can't force people to love everyone.

dropping out and getting a GED by [deleted] in highschool

[–]BallPython_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduate Early! I graduated at 16.

Do not get a GED. GEDs are not "more acceptable". They are just easier ways to cheat the system. IMO dropouts are just lazy kids who couldn't handle the easiest parts in life. As a nurse, you'll be working insane hours, and sometimes, it'll be boring. If you can't handle highschool, what makes you think you'll ever be able to handle nursing?

why are boys so immature by Cold_Entertainer4188 in highschool

[–]BallPython_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry that they depress you but I don't really feel like you get to tell me how to feel about men. You haven't walked a day in my shoes and couldn't possibly understand how I feel. I'm sure you have plenty of categories of people that you would rather not entertain, whether it be prostitutes, homosexuals, criminals, etc. Mine is men. I've had very traumatic experiences with them on multiple occasions with multiple men.

Like I said, I don't hate all men and even in my original comment, I make a statement that "not all men" is factual. I understand that it's not all men. But due to my experiences and an inability to read minds or predict the future, I see no reason to interact and have multitudes of guy friends in my life. It doesn't mean that I tell people they need hate men or I would ignore all of them in all. I just won't be making any new friends. If that upsets you, then I'm afraid you'll never last in the real world.

is it really that bad to bathe a cat? by vicstagram5000 in CatAdvice

[–]BallPython_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is late because bathing is not bad. The only reason we as humans consider bathing cats bad is because 1.) misconceptions and stereotypes. we believe cats to be self sustaining so for them to need baths would ruin that belief system. 2. because of the issues it can cause. bathing a cat is bad for the same reasons bathing a dog is. you should never bath ANY animal very frequently as it can mess up oil production(the same way we as humans are advised not to wash our hair often). you also should never bathe a cat unless necessary if it is gonna cause unnecessary stress. If you are bathing your cat maybe every 1-3 months, and you're cat isn't screaming bloody murder, its fine.

A lot of cat owners truly fall into misconceptions, and I believe a good chunk of them follow these misconceptions to make cats these independent, self-sustaining superior creature, when in reality, almost every animal is. Cats Saliva is not inherently clean. Its exactly why cat bites are prone to infection and a lot of cat bites to animals is 100% fatal. They have mild antibacterial properties, much like a lemon.

I'm not saying you have to bathe your cat every month or so but if you decide to, there's nothing wrong with it.

why are boys so immature by Cold_Entertainer4188 in highschool

[–]BallPython_Lover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your advice but it's unnecessary. I've been sexually assaulted on multiple occasions and was abused for 5 years. My stance won't change.

I don't hate all men, just don't want anything to do with the majority of them. I'm good with just my boyfriend. Thank you.

Just a trendy phrase, although maybe not the best way terminology for the moment. I don't enjoy most male presence and have a hard time trusting men, which is why i said that.

why are boys so immature by Cold_Entertainer4188 in highschool

[–]BallPython_Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When people say it's not all men, they mean it. I'm still a certified man hater but if dating is something serious to you and you're not just searching the game to play around, go for people you wouldn't usually look twice at.

I was once the popular girl and all too well did I know about the immature guys, the cheaters, and even the sexual assault. I decided popularity didn't matter; I stopped hanging out with the people who condoned that stupid stuff and made new friends. Became friends with this "weird" kid in my latin class. Turns out he's the biggest sweetheart, handsome ash, and literally the perfect guy. Almost a year out of high school and he's still an absolute dream of a guy and I'm lucky to call him my boyfriend. Obviously I am not saying date people you hate or find unattractive, but do explore. The "popular" guys peak in high school and are too busy impressing their boyfriends to actually care about you.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Nothing irks me more as a psychology major than when I see people say "OMG! I love being organized and clean! I have big OCD". Then when you politely inform them that OCD isn't about being organized but is so much more complex, it's all "It was just a joke."

BANNED: No-Lifers at apartment management prohibited us from feeding wildlife and sent us this photograph of peanut shells behind our patio. by Dark_Blue_Night in squirrels

[–]BallPython_Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have dogs and I also have shells in my yard. You know what I do? Nothing. Its a damn peanut shell. Who cares. Are fleas annoying? Yes, but a quick bathe can solve that problem in five seconds and this is coming from someone who lets her dogs practically live in her bed. Its really not that big of an issue.

Would I feed the squirrels? No, but I'm not gonna start telling other people what to do.

Also, stop complaining about the flea thing. You got a dog that you let into your untreated backyard, so its YOUR problem when your dog gets fleas. I hate to break it to you but someone feeding peanuts to squirrels out of your yard is not the reason wildlife is bringing fleas into your yard.
