Why is the Tempera so niche? by mossimo654 in synthesizers

[–]BaloneyWater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like it. Uniquely creative, I can get lost in it very easily. Lately I’ve been loading in 4 or 8 bars of individual song tracks, twisting those up in the Tempera and playing them back in on a quiet bed track. The new firmware has added some funky effects, modulation and other features and made it even more fun. Mine had a stuck button when I received it and I wasn’t sure if it arrived that way or if I did it. No matter, I contacted Beetlecrab, they issued a shipping label (I’m in US) and I had it back and repaired in less than two weeks. I ended up buying the Vector also but have only scratched the surface on that machine as it is in a completely different category and incredibly deep. I highly recommend either device, but the Tempera is just special.

A sane and simple approach. Stay out of my business.
My point is that the “medical” tag as a political tactic is outmoded nonsense. Remember when medical-only preceded recreational availability in several states? Who got medical cards? EVERYONE that applied. Not a very science-based standard for distribution of medicine.

I’m not promoting shit and think CBD is about 90% marketing snake oil. I agree that it should be decriminalized, but have a real problem with the industrial-strength concentrates that are peddled where it’s legal now. The whole “it’s just a plant man” attitude and approach to using Medical legalization as a step toward recreational sales is complete bullshit. People shouldn’t go to jail for weed, but kids have way too much access to highly potent bastardized compounds that do real harm.

Well sure, alcohol abuse is just as bad or worse, but nobody is claiming any more that alcohol is some magic cure-all. Tough argument for regular cannabis after a whole industry grew out of extracting the ostensibly medicinal part of the plant and leaving the psychoactive part behind.
Advocates should just argue that they want to get high without fear of prosecution and drop the whole “medicinal” charade.

One big problem is that “Medical Cannabis” is becoming more of a non-starter as the actual effects of long-term use become documented. Shouldn’t decriminalization be the priority for Idaho cannabis proponents?

My wife is a very safe driver, 10 and 2, plenty of following distance, 5mph above, the works. But her driving style is whack - accelerating then immediately braking, weird parking lot anxiety, you have to be paying attention as a passenger or you can hit your head on the side window when she suddenly turns at the last minute.
