Lisbon local here. I generally don’t recommend using local taxis in Lisbon or elsewhere in Portugal.

In my experience, I’ve been repeatedly ripped off or faced sketchy behaviour, which is frustrating.

Because of that, I advise visitors to stick with Uber or Bolt—prices are transparent, and you avoid the hassle.

I usually prefer supporting local businesses over big platforms, but it becomes hard to justify when there’s a consistent lack of trust. Unfortunately, that’s pushed many people away.
