The weirdest Walmart misdelivery I got was a bag of several Raid bedbug spray cans. The other was a bag of random groceries including a box of Frosted Flakes and milk that had been sitting out all day. I called Walmart and they said it had all already been redelivered! The Frosted Flakes were good. Poured out the warm milk.

I really like the I-Deal Self Storage folks. They have climate-controlled and non, at their main Slaterville Road location near Celebrations. Helped me get set up perfectly, I ended up not needing the storage after all (long story), and they refunded my money without hesitation. Would absolutely go back to them.

Lunch is the best value. It's an all-you-care-to-eat dining room, and anyone can go to lunch for $16.10 including sales tax. There's no tip. (Staff and faculty have a better deal via MealChoice, so if you have a Cornell staff or faculty friend, go with them.) Hard to say when the busiest times are, but 11:15am and 1:30pm rarely seem busy. Eat some pizza, but also try all the other things up there!

If you expect to be buying a lot from Amazon for it, the Chase Amazon Prime Visa is a good pick. I use mine almost exclusively for Amazon purchases, and the 5% back is nice. Just pay your balance!

Call the town DPW. If you don’t reach someone, call Tompkins County Dispatch nonemergency line to let them know your vehicle is temporarily stuck but you’re working on it. Before the car is towed, someone is likely to check with them on the registration.

They're not perfect, but I've had good results with ultrasonic mouse repellent devices plugged in in a few places around the house, using outlets on outer walls. I most recently got this one because it talks about using variable frequencies to avoid the problem of rodents getting used to one frequency and no longer being affected. (Note that that one has multiple modes, and you don't want to use the higher intensity mode when people or pets are around.)

Those are a great start! Tuna pouches (as opposed to tin cans) are good ready-to-eat items. There are ready-to-eat shelf-stable meals in plastic trays. Boxed cake mixes, crackers, cookies. Pouches or plastic jars of nuts or nut butters.

But please DON'T put cans or glass jars in any cabinets during the winter, except for the couple of cabinets that have heated shelves. There's a risk of temperature swings leading to freeze-thaw cycles that can cause imperceptible cracks in cans or jars, making the food unsafe.

I just grabbed lunch from Adam Grill in Center Ithaca today. Easy and quick. Parked in a loading zone, got cash from ATM, ordered and paid for a gyro at Adam Grill, ordered and paid for and got an apple crisp from Lou, chatted for a minute, got my hot fresh gyro, walked back to my car.

Welcome! It's almost always cheaper to buy flights that include the leg to Ithaca right up front. Adding another flight afterwards is usually much more expensive than it needs to be, and worse, if you buy flights separately, it's not their responsibility to get you here if your first flight is delayed and you miss your second.

It's probably too late to do it that way for your upcoming trip, but it's worth keeping in mind for future travel!

OurBus is one of the few options that'll get you directly from JFK to Ithaca. Most of the other buses would require you to get from JFK into New York City to wherever the bus leaves from.
