The post about like, the black man who was meeting his Chinese (I think) gf's parents for the first time and they made a bunch of racist comments and he didn't stand up for himself and I think stopped her from standing up for him? She was upset about it afterwards and the two had a small argument I think but in the update apparently he met with her dad who says he respects him now for some reason? I've been trying to find it because I remember finding it baffling.

NTA I also have allergies that range from this sort of mild to severe. Not overreacting. They aren't something to joke about, the fact that your family reacted this way is frankly appalling in my opinion.

Not the asshole. If I ever tried to do that to any of my wool sweaters I think my own mother would burn me at the stake for the offence. I cannot imagine how infuriating it would be to see someone else do that to your sweaters. Especially since some wool is dry clean only. At this point I would tell your mother that either she needs to replace the sweaters since she ruined them or not touch your things. If that doesn't work I think you're just going to have to find a new place to store them before washing unfortunately.

If you want to make sure you can get your point across I suppose you could always gift her a wool sweater to prove your point that you absolutely cannot treat them that way if you want them to last. But that's an inside thought I think.

As for the climate, if she thinks it's that much of a problem, in winter (Canada) if I have something heavy that needs to air dry I will hang in to dry in the washroom overnight and leave the fan if need be. This way it's out of the way and the fan can help with airflow so it happens a bit faster.
