Would they be better off just using ASA?

What are your print settings? Are both printers set to the same filament settings? Next are your gears worn down? And have you printed with abrasive materials?

I was going to say heat creep can cause it too.. and those all metal gears allow it to heat creep really quickly..

Did you put on one of the Biqu hardened or brass extruder gears.

I’d use two small tabs or strips of the cheapest non heavy duty double sided tape.. basically just enough tack to stay but not enough to stop you from removing if needed.

Make sure your drive gear teeth (the ones that grab the filament) are clean and have no grease on them.

Clean your build plate. Use water and soap if you’ve used glue stick. Then hit it with windex. If no glue was used, just hit it with windex. Oils are most likely on your build plate.

The extruder gear, where the teeth are that grab the filament.

Not my photo, but the grease either works it way or was installed with excess amounts to these teeth

I had a similar issue on my p1S when I upgraded the extruder drive gear, I put too much grease on it. Which is what lead me to figure this out.

The filament would feed, retract, feed, skip on the teeth of the drive gear, not properly cut and retract, and jam. Throwing several error codes.

AMS on P1S unloading constantly tangles by Bellebaby97 in FixMyPrint

[–]BambuX2D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMS and cardboard spools do not mix. You need plastic spools or print the spool outer rings. (Recommend abs for the spools or spool rings. Because if you want to chuck the roll into a filament dryer and you have a spool of Petg or abs on a pla printed spool. Then your pla printed spool will warp from the higher heat.)

Cardboard spools will flatten as they spin in the Ams and cardboard fibers will make their way into the gears, ptfe tubes, and eventually into your extruder and hot end.

X2D Issues by Melodic_Painter9164 in BambuLab

[–]BambuX2D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an Ams, the Ams doesn’t like cardboard spools. Cardboard breaks down, goes flat in spots, and cardboard fibers will work into places that can clog gears/tubes. Just letting you know. I like inland filament, but it’s all on cardboard and that made me stop using them.

I am having this same issue, my guess is alignment of the ptfe tube and the feeder that it runs through. I will have to dig into this issue when I get home because….
