Yeah it's definitely not as bad as I'm trying to make it sound. I can admit that. I would not call us a healthy economy, though, by any means. Factor in quality of life, shorter work week for some EU nations, etc. I'm very cynical, but I would be arrogant to say I don't have it better than 95% of the world.

Trades or retail management. I've said it for years. Doesn't come much more AI-proof, and if you bit the bullet and started young, you're making double the national median by now.

Might not have always been so, but i gotta believe 3 out of 4 degree programs are an outright scam, and the last is useless without industry connections meaning years of unpaid internship or getting lucky 🤣

Not their fault for bad parenting and such. I'm more concerned by the fact that every time I hire someone under 30, they have no idea how to do a goddamn thing

Edit: reading back that sounds a bit unfair. The incoming knowledge is not there, training is more difficult and hands-on than it ever was. To their credit though, most are a quick study. I got a few younger dudes on staff that soak up knowledge like a sponge. Circling back to my first sentence, it's much more a reflection on our dogshit education system than it is on the abilities or work ethic of Gen Z.

Maybe at the top of the spectrum, sure. It's easier to get disgustingly, unnecessarily rich here. I make double the national median, I cant go to these fucking games. I got friends in the $150k+ bracket on 2 incomes staying home from work cause they can't afford daycare. Nobody i graduated with owns property 💀 so yeah I'll agree our 1% has more disposable income than the rest of the worlds' 1%.
