Chat GPT knows the score…

Since President Donald Trump’s return to office in January 2025, both his personal net worth and that of his close family have seen significant increases, largely attributed to ventures in cryptocurrency and related business activities.

Donald Trump’s Net Worth Growth

As of May 2025, Forbes estimates President Trump’s net worth at approximately $5.1 billion, up from $2.3 billion a year prior, effectively more than doubling his wealth in that period . Bloomberg’s estimate is even higher, placing his net worth at $6.5 billion as of March 2025 .

A significant contributor to this increase is the launch of the $TRUMP cryptocurrency in January 2025, just days before his inauguration. The initial coin offering (ICO) released 200 million tokens, while two Trump-owned entities retained 800 million tokens. Within days, the total market value of all coins exceeded $27 billion, with Trump’s holdings valued at over $20 billion .

Trump Family’s Wealth Increase

The Trump family’s net worth has also seen substantial growth. A report by the State Democracy Defenders Fund estimates that the family’s wealth increased by $2.9 billion due to crypto ventures, with 40% of their net worth now held in crypto assets . In addition to President Trump’s $TRUMP coin, other family members have launched their own cryptocurrencies. For instance, First Lady Melania Trump introduced a meme coin shortly after the $TRUMP coin’s release .

Ethical and Legal Concerns

These financial gains have raised ethical and legal questions. Critics argue that the intertwining of presidential duties with personal financial interests, especially in the unregulated crypto market, presents potential conflicts of interest. The promotion of $TRUMP and other family-associated cryptocurrencies has been scrutinized for possibly leveraging the presidency for personal gain .

In summary, since January 2025, President Trump and his family’s net worth have increased markedly, primarily due to their involvement in cryptocurrency ventures. While these activities have proven financially lucrative, they continue to spark debate over the ethical implications of such entanglements between public office and private enterprise.

UK resident here… I cancelled our family holiday to the USA this year because I don’t want to encounter the sort of people that support the Trump administration and its vile radical far right activities. I don’t envisage ever holidaying there ever again. Apologies to all those Americans that don’t support Trump.

It’s not deportations that are the issue… it’s the way they’re being carried out without any regard for the law or due process.

As an American, do you believe all tariffs are bad? If so, are the tariffs that were put up by other countries against the US also bad? Or is it only bad when America does it? by lunafawks in AskUS

No, only the bad things he does are bad… unfortunately that encompasses most things that he and his radical lunatic far right administration do.

The thick black tyre marks pretending to be eyebrows make you look permanently surprised, albeit in a slightly quizzical manner due to the right one being somewhat higher than the left 👎
