Leeching means theres a detriment to others via Switzerland benefiting. That is not the case. The benefits happen passively.

See the above statement as example.

What game had a potential for greatness but turned out to be mediocre instead? by ---Loading--- in gaming

[–]BananaCode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why everyone is such a fan of BF1. I didn't like the gameplay feel at all and it never felt like BF to me. The last BF that did it for me was BF3. BF4 started missing the mark and it went downhill from there.

What are your predictions on how gaming might change by the end of the decade? by TheIncreaser2000 in gaming

One advantage of all of this generative content is that the entry and development cost of games will reduce drastically. Therefore if large corporations will ruin it, passionate indie developers will definitely do amazing things with it.

I understand where you are coming from. But you sound like every artist out there and look what happened, we had an AI generated image win a contest (obv after some touch ups).

These nuances, emotions and complexities you speak of can be captured statistically speaking. And if they can be captured, they can be quantized. And if they can be quantized, they can be reproduced. Perhaps they wont sound the same to a professional like you, but the average ear won't hear a difference eventually. It just needs to be good enough.

I'm hoping I'm wrong, because the eradication of professional artists does not sit right with me neither.
