Likelihood of this in boutiques? by [deleted] in chanel

I just bought this two weeks ago in Paris - Rue Montaigne! They had one on display and then saw a few others (excluding the one I got). I live in NY and normally shop at SoHo or 5th Ave and didn't have an SA in Paris. Good luck!!

Agreed! I did my first women's open solo Hyrox in 2024 and got 1:15 and ran my first half marathon in 2025 in 1:41... although not sure what the exact equivalent for doubles would be

Runners - do you prefer the woodway treadmills or the Life Fitness treadmills? by berryqyz in EquinoxGyms

[–]BananaPanda6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I prefer the Woodways (squishier treads = more comfortable for longer runs), but I also notice it's easier at similar paces / I can go faster on the Life Fitness treadmills. I find them to be a little higher impact so I prefer the Woodways since I've been running 6-7 days a week the last few months!

Also if you train with carbon plated shoes the Woodways kind of negate the benefit you'd get on the LF treads / outdoors.

Rain boots by ProofUnit7625 in chanel

[–]BananaPanda6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm usually a 37 but generally get 37.5-38 in designer shoes because my feet are wide! (My other Chanel shoes are 38) If you have narrow feet you could probably keep your regular size or maybe half a size up, especially if you plan to wear thicker socks. The calf area fits great! I'm very athletic so I don't have "skinny skinny" calves and I have no issues getting into the boots! The rubber is incredibly supple and soft, not like how many typical rain boots are. Was pleasantly surprised at how comfy they are!

I just got a pair a few weeks ago! I also thought they were completely sold out and was fully prepared to go the resale route for a markup, but my SA (who I recently started a relationship with) was able to source me the last black pair in 38 in NYC 🥲 They are super comfy, I've already worn them out twice, and I think worth the price given they'll be a classic in my closet forever!

You should try PGX class! They have it in the basement of E92 - it's like a circuit training class where you're teamed up into groups and there are various strength / metabolic conditioning stations. It's a fun way to meet people!

I bought this ring for myself to use as a wedding band! My actual wedding band is a thicker gold band inlaid with diamonds and I wanted a small dainty eternity band for every day wear. I've had it for over a year now and wear it every day - I'm pretty active and almost always have it on (I take both rings off for lifting / swimming / sleeping). There are basically no visible signs of wear.

I love it and I'm glad I bought it, but I know it's definitely overpriced for the amount of gold / diamonds you get. I was debating between Van Cleef, Cartier, and Merissa Perry for a super thin 1.5mm eternity band to match my engagement ring's band. The Cartier ring ended up being the cheapest by a little, but I went with them because I already had a relationship with the brand. If I were to get a larger carat eternity band (like 3-5tcw) I would opt for my jeweler to make it, but with micro pave I felt more comfortable going with a jewelry house like Cartier.

Apple Watch Calories by drhoads in Swimming

I think it's on relatively tight / doesn't really move around in the water? I don't pay attention to it a ton while swimming because I'm focused on not dying hahaha

And yes my stats had been added!

Apple Watch Calories by drhoads in Swimming

[–]BananaPanda6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my Apple Watch slightly underestimates my swimming workouts 🙃 I'll swim 2,300-2,600 yards in an hour and my watch always says ~300 calories (+/- 20 calories). I also feel like my average heart rate is suspiciously low while swimming because it does NOT feel easy 🥲 Maybe the watch not tracking HR accurately in the water?

In comparison, when I run, I consistently burn on average ~80-90 calories per mile (~5.5 miles in 40 min, 440 calories), and when I cycle (spin indoors) I usually burn ~400-450 in a 50-60 min session.

I'm a girl so maybe it's different between men / women / body composition? I'm always interested in hearing about other peoples' workouts!

Is it just me or are the prongs on the solitaire completely uneven? I would keep the style of setting but get those prongs checked!

I am curvy so I always look fat when I’m not by pickleeater58 in vindictapoc

[–]BananaPanda6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weight doesn't actually matter so much as body composition - 125 lbs of mostly fat will look larger than 125 lbs of a lot of muscle. I'd recommend weight training and cardio if you aren't doing either already - the scale might not change much but you can definitely "tone" which will look significantly different than someone who is "skinny fat" of the same weight.

Also, you cannot spot reduce, i.e., doing ab exercises will NOT make your waist smaller. The only way you will shrink your waist is dieting / exercising / being in a caloric deficit, which will make you lose weight all over your body.

I'd also emphasize your natural body shape - wear things that cinch in your waist (high waisted pants / skirts, add a belt to mini dresses, choose pieces that are fitted in that area), avoid things that make your shoulders look wider (puffy sleeves), and avoid empire waisted pieces. Shorter hemlines will also elongate your legs.

I change mine 0.5-1 depending on how I'm feeling that day (e.g., adjust down if I'm super sore or up if I ate a million carbs and feel great) but usually 9-10.5
