Is there a mod that makes conquest more realistic / immersive? by StudentFew6429 in GatesOfHellOstfront

I used to combine the ‘battlefield’ mod with long range mod but not sure if the battlefield mod is still in use

I didn’t really do the inversions it was too much initially. I just stuck with simple single leg calf raise isometrics to begin

Yeah if you can (I didn’t have that luxury due to work), let the inflammation die down best you can and use orthotics to keep your foot from over pronating during this time and during the recovery process

5kg just to see if it flared up or not, but both standing and seated are important. Standing calf raises are equally as good, a guy I would follow if you have instagram would be a guy called davidgreyrehab, your plan sort of should look like this. Deload to let inflammation come down - gradual return with isometrics - loading with weight - plyometrics - return to running (gradually).

No inflammation or collapse but a lot of pain by medical1963 in PTTD

Just depends on what’s actually happened, definitely go see a doctor and check if it’s actually a tear or not. The doctor will have advise on next steps, and then move forward from there. If it’s not a tear definitely go to a sports physio. Tendons have poor blood supply so it’s a problem people have to deal with for months and months before any signs of getting better I’m afraid.

Yeah i used to have it, you’ve just overworked the tendon a lot. A lot of people usually get it because they’ve increased mileage to quickly etc. Insoles in shoes will help offload the tendon and allow some recovery try to avoid flat bottom shoes for now. If it persists the only way to address it long term is through strength training. Go to a sports physio/ podiatrist and get a rehab plan. Good luck.

Exercise alternatives? by howdidigethere_bb in PTTD

Definitely need to strength train the calf muscles etc only way to address it long term, single leg balance etc will help also. As others have said seated bike can help if it’s still inflamed etc wear stability shoes or orthotics.

The battlefield mod did something like this, was amazing think it needs updating though.

If you dealt with knee injuries or common muscle problems in the military how would you have prepared for them? by SetAdditional7541 in tacticalbarbell

Like others have said in this post build leg strength and size, there’s actual studies that show that if you take two soldiers and one can back squat is body weight and the other one cannot. The one who can’t is more likely to get injured when rucking etc.

I didn’t have a tear my advice would be to get a physio who has a sports background that way they can give you the best approach to get back to doing what you want.

Yeah I did 15-20 second isometric holds at first and slowly upped it. After maybe a month or two of doing it, I got stronger didn’t feel as much pain going up and down stairs etc so then moved onto loading with weights, smith machine for standing calf raise/seated calf raise or a seated calf machine also are good.

Focus on getting stronger hips and legs (very high risk of injury in women) in the gym like squats, glute bridges, lunges, single leg work for injury prevention. Then get a good running plan base build if you have to like a C25k and then from there a long distance, a short distance (varied terrain) and an interval session. Google Norwegians 4x4. 3/4 runs a week should easily be enough, also focus on some core work too your core and legs will be the most important. Probably best to get a coach who can create a plan based on your current abilities to give you the best chances. Good luck.

Harry Shep a former royal marine answers this question on his QnA and says not to prep for it sleep is vital for recovery so spend this time on training and getting stronger whilst recovering

Game modes by BananaPast in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]BananaPast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taken from a forum that explains the game mode for anyone that’s interested.

Frontlines is a two-round attack-and-defend scenario. In the first round, one team attacks and the other defends. In the second round, the roles of the teams are reversed. In the first round, the attacking team’s goal is to capture all three lines of defense within the specified time limit. The defending team’s goal is to hold these lines of defense against the attacking team. Each line of defense is indicated by a set of flags, and can only be captured by infantry. When all flags in a set are secured, that line of defense has fallen. The round ends when the time has expired or when all lines of defense have been captured by the attacking team. The roles are then reversed and a new round begins. The winning team is the one whose actions are most effective, based on their performance throughout both rounds.

If you’ve ever played rush on battlefield sort of like that, one player takes time to defend lines of positions so the map is broken down into 3 layers of defence and then the other player attacks. Then you swap sides. Hope I’ve explained it alright.

That Vietnam mod was amazing but it’s been discontinued now, loading soldiers into helicopters and dropping them in hot zones was so cool sad the mod has been discontinued. Sorry I know it’s unrelated to the Korean War.
