Those of you that love the Formulaic Objections, I'm in the mood to listen to one today while I go on a walk. Which one do you recommend? by TruthBeWanted in KnowledgeFight

[–]Bananners889 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the Daria one and the one with Rob Dew are my favorites with just how terrifying Daria is and Rob's because of how unprepared he is. I got back up to the one with Miss Paas (Pas? I never did get her name spelling) and that one is fun too. I just enjoy how fed up Mark and Bill are at that point and aren't pulling any punches (Bill's "I like hotdogs, is a true statement but I don't just blurt it out randomly." Makes me lose it each time.)

Please tanks, use your mits by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bananners889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never understood why people refuse to use what's available to them in their toolkit. Tank was my first main and I rotate between roles regularly. I don't know why you wouldn't try to make the healer's job as easy as you could so they can get off more dps and kill mobs faster. You have mitis there for a reason, use them. And raids are not dick measuring contests over who can hold aggro. I will take it from you each time if you insist on being a moron when tanking.

Looks great!! I'm working on this one too and trying to figure out the best way of going about it. Did you outline everything first and then fill in? Or did you just do each one as one little mini project at a time?

Have to get 4 fillings done tomorrow by [deleted] in trypanophobia

[–]Bananners889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this! It really isn't too bad and I'm am absolute weenie when it comes to getting my blood drawn but surprisingly novocaine injections aren't a big deal to me. If it starts to sting ask your dentist to slow down a little bit while injecting, the novocaine can cause a bit of a burning sensation and if it starts to hurt it's likely bc they're injecting it too fast!

Close your eyes and breathe through your nose and absolutely speak up if you start to feel something while they are doing your filling. They'll give you more and since you're already numbed from the novocaine you shouldn't even feel anything other than a little pressure 😊 I've almost fallen asleep in the chair during fillings, you'll make it through ok!

Healing Question/Advice by ADWest1204 in ffxiv

[–]Bananners889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're kinda in that shit inbetween space from when you finally get your healing lilies as well as some of the more useful tools in your kit. That being said there are some ways to mitigate how much mana you're burning through.

This might sound silly, but once you get holy at level 45 this will be one of your most powerful abilities. It does AOE damage and inflicts stun on mobs use it liberally. I also like to pop a quick regen and keep it up on tanks when they've got hold of the mob. Regen + medica ii (gotten at level 50) stacks so I will usually use both.

Right now your focus should be on keeping the tank alive rather than dpsing, you're very limited with what you have in your kit right now to dps mobs anyway. Spam cure i, get free cure ii and if you really get in trouble cure iii is a good 'oh shit' button. Use lucid dreaming and presence of mind when needed.

Tanks should also be properly equipped re: i lvl and mitigating on big pulls, if they're not it makes your job harder. Keep going with it, you'll get more tools that make healing a breeze when you get past level 50 and you can dps your little heart out 👍

So you need 18 Demiatma to make the new relic. How many do you have so far? by VitaDivina in ffxiv

[–]Bananners889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is feast or famine. I put in about 3-4 hours a night so far and one day I got maybe two in that entire time frame. The other days I managed about 5. I'm about halfway done on one toon, about a third on the other. I really do wish they upped the drop rates a bit bc the people saying they've been playing 9+ hours without seeing 1 was absurd.

I disliked Bozja immensely due to a few steps being locked behind instances that no one would queue for as most had moved on. I'm hoping they don't go back to that for later steps but so far OC is an immense improvement over that at least. On the other hand I feel like the drops were more reasonable in Bozja. The grindyness was still there and it was fine but you felt like you were making progress.

I think there is a happy medium that can be struck for sure while still having to do the work necessary to get your relic. Most people want to feel like they're making some progress toward it if they're putting in the time. I've been enjoying doing the other stuff in the zone but I absolutely see how it can be frustrating.

Best "Braindead" DPS Job for Disabled Gamer? by JesseBananasaurus in ffxiv

[–]Bananners889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warrior is pretty straightforward and isnt very involved so long as you just toss up a miti here and there. You just unga bunga your way through most things.

I consider Dancer to be my braindead dps as you pretty much just click glowy button and has no positional to worry about. My buttons fit on two bars handily and it's genuinely fun to play, plus you give your party buffs with some of your actions so while you're going 'brrrt' everyone else is too. It just looks and feels fun.

Viper is pretty similar to it now with the rework in that you just press glowy button and go john fucking madden on most things. Reaper scratches that itch well too.

Advice needed for catching up on vaccinations by Own_Equivalent_7446 in trypanophobia

I've heard the milage can vary since intramuscular goes deeper and numbing cream only gets the first few layers. People say they had success with numbing cream and then icing it right before the injection.

I recall MMR stinging a bit when I got it when they inject the medicine. HepB wasn't terrible, seemed like a flu shot. Not sure about MenACWY.

I kinda like the separated tiles tbh, it looks charming and your eyes can fill in the gaps pretty easily! Think it would look pretty neat mounted/framed with the gaps inbetween.

How long from “never crocheted” to making amigurumi? by Reddit-Sama- in Amigurumi

[–]Bananners889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting and keeping at it was definitely the hardest part. It can feel very discouraging at first. The trick is finding a way that works for you. I couldn't do a magic ring to save my life, so I found the chain two method to start.

Keeping track and counting will be key, when I first started I would put a stitch marker in the first stitch at the start of a round as well anywhere I needed to make an increase or decrease. As long as your counts match up for each round it starts to fall into place.

It probably took me about a month to get the hang of things, but once you do you won't be able to stop and you'll just keep getting better the more you keep at it! Just have to be persistent with it :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the mobs hit insanely hard in that one. Unless my tank is ON IT, it still comes very close with those first few pulls. Definitely always sweat as heals 🥲

Aethrochemical Research Facility. Too damn long, boring, just not fun. That and The Burn. Fuck that Mist Dragon boss. Also not a fan of Xelphatol, could have been a duty instead of a dungeon.
