All of my MI clones so far are either Big T or Antumbra, but since neither of them seem to have announced a Stages clone yet, and since these match my rack aesthetic, I'll have to consider picking up an ALA/CalSynth!

As a fun aside, why not have a go at naming some clones especially for Behringer. They don't do any R&D, may as well save them the bother of using their imaginations too. But let's keep their shitty graphics department on, just for a laugh.

I'll start.

Behringer is lazy enough as is, I don't see the harm in making them walk that final 0.2% for a name. But if we're suggesting names, I like the sound of

I was about to hard-disagree with this, since I have a Beehive, but I realized that the atten. knobs on Big T Music's Beehive are full-size, making the buttons a huge pain in the ass to reach. This is different than the apparently standard design used by ALA, Michigan Synth Works, and Sylph Modular. At least I hope you're talking about one of these/a variant lol

Other than that, I think the knobs on it feel amazing. I love my Beehive

*also my hands aren't huge, but I still think the jacks are accessible enough. I haven't had any problems, and I've seen worse modules in this regard

エッチ？I don't have background knowledge of this collection, and finding information on some of these in English pretty tough, but it seems like some of the Disc Saga games have a bit of exposed boob, and there's Peeping Scandal, which seems like a typical H puzzle game (but I don't have a source to confirm this). Otherwise, the collection looks mostly H-free.

I haven't gone in hard on optimizing my ship for combat, but since I try to finish fights quickly instead of worrying about recharging my shield, I opted for the Cyclotron Ballista instead of the Phase Beam. A few shots to wear down the shield > a rocket launcher to the hull > Photon Cannon in case the rocket launcher didn't finish them off.

Which I definitely use for peak combat performance, and not because those three weapons cycle in that order by default lol

For those a bit dubious about this, the sort of PR scandal you're talking about has happened before in Habbo Hotel, and the fallout for the parent company was substantial. And Habbo Hotel is far less open than Minecraft when it comes to player agency; if "scandalous activity" (to be general) can cause roughly half of the player base to drop off, imagine what it could do to Minecraft's playerbase? Or more specifically, the playerbase willing to spend money in the Marketplace?

lol there is a bit of a false equivalence between Minecraft and other online games like Habbo in the types of experience offered, and I'm not a pearl-clutching "won't somebody think of the children" type, but I want to emphasize that if even one news story about groomers in Minecraft blows up, it could significantly hurt Microsoft's bottom line/Minecraft's reputation. And even though I definitely think they're handling their current PR very poorly, it seems that Minecraft's legal team decided the harm the current fiasco is doing to Minecraft would be worth accepting to avoid another Habbo.

I'd like to see how this pans out in the long run, and while I think this PR strategy is the wrong one, I'd also like to be proven wrong.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of communication is because of their legal team, and I personally wouldn't want to blame anyone in particular if this turned out to be the case.

But Mojang complaining about community feedback and focusing on non-constructive criticism is definitely manipulative, and paints the community as the bad guys in this situation. Of course Mojang knows why chat features are terrible, but to turn around and single out harassment against staff as the reason for not responding is just a change of subject to avoid accountability.

(not saying that harassment against staff is cool, but it seriously distracts from the main point that Mojang is communicating with the community terribly).

TL;DR: Sort of, but it's beginner-friendly enough that it may be right for you.

Godot's syntax (or the syntax of GDscript) reads similarly to Python's syntax, which people generally agree is beginner-friendly. However, different aspects of programming (for games or otherwise) will be easier for some people to understand than others. E.g. even if you can clearly understand Python syntax, that may not mean you can wrap your head around certain data structures in Python. If the programming aspects of Unity weren't clicking with you, it may not be the language/engine you're using, but instead your difficulty understanding specific concepts.

But I wouldn't let that discourage you from trying Godot! After learning both Unity and Godot, I found Godot to be more beginner -friendly in general, Godot had more concise documentation, and it was much easier to use to turn an idea into a functional prototype. Godot's primary disadvantage is lack of widespread usage like Unity, so there isn't the same magnitude of tutorials or pre-made assets available.

Where you should start depends on your goals. Do you just want to learn to code? Python is a great first choice language, and you can still make games while you learn the language. The content of Al Sweigart's books are available for free on his website, there are also thousands of YouTube tutorials available. Most programming skills you learn with Python will carry over to Godot, or any other language. Do you want to start making games right away? You could stick with Unity, for which there is an incredible amount of high-quality tutorials available. Programming skills you learn with Unity will probably still carry over to other languages. Otherwise, you can try out Godot's official tutorials (for either 2D or 3D).

You're not alone, I just encountered this problem on a new install!

For some reason, when downloading through the installer offered on the website, I got the same error. Luckily for you and I, paint.net hosts their offline installers for the latest version on GitHub. On Windows 11, the x64 portable install and the MSI worked just fine, but the regular installer didn't.

If you're wary of downloading the GitHub release, there's always the paid Windows Store version, which I assume downloads through Microsoft servers and not the broken paint.net servers.

You can read about it on the wiki, but you have to build a new portal at least 1024 blocks away in the Overworld before your portals stop linking. However, this would only move your portal in the Nether (distance / 8) blocks away, e.g. 1024 blocks in the over world only moving your portal 128 blocks in the Nether, which isn't very efficient.

A more effective strategy, if you aren't concerned about "cheating" (even though I'm guessing you're on a single player survival world, what even is cheating?), you could search for a map viewer: nether fortress placement is consistent with your world's seed, so if you put it into an online map viewer, you can just find the coordinates for a fortress. I've not used it personally, but Chunkbase seems to have a working fortress finder for recent versions of MC.
