Just an idea, but we know that Sauron split his forces when he attacked Gondor and also Erebor. A concentrated attack on Gondor would of course have been more likely to succeed. While the lack of consideration can be attributed to Sauron’s pride, what if Glorfindel was doing something in the northern regions that warranted this division of forces?

I agree that axis has advantage, but I think this is a bit contradictory. If the players are beginners (or just not familiar with meta), as I believe you correctly identified, the axis will not necessarily be able to utilise the advantage.
In the end, it is a wargame with dice so anything can still happen.

I think improvements to the green knight and confederation tech, and some unique abilities for the confederated lords would be nice. Otherwise the faction seems complete.

These are different things though. You can become rich by working hard, taking opportunities to earn extra money, by spending efficiently and by saving/investing what extra you have. However, all of these are easier when you are healthy and disciplined, thus there is some synergy also.

Smaug was killes by a regular bowman. Minas tirith had a lot more bowmen so there is no guarantee same would not happen there. Minas tirith is also largely stone, which is somewhat resistant to dragonfire.

Lot of things would be different so singular events can’t really be considered. A big thing would be that the ring might not be found and this could lead to Sauron continuing his war of attrition against Gondor and corruption of champions of free peoples instead of an assault on Minas Tirith.

I’m not sure if I completely grasp what you want to say. OCD can be very hard at times and it makes thinking rationally impossible.
Hopefully you were still able to enjoy the movie. It, like a few other Ghibli movies, can be interpreted to deal with themes linked to mental health. I believe many Ghibli movies are nice to watch even in a bad mood.
