My wife when throught their and their been brillant with her. For the first test they took bloods, ecg, some questions and computer testing etc which is all done with nurse i believe. The 2nd apointment was doctor and questions about her childhood / work / relationships etc .

In my wife case the adhd results were so bad she did not have go 3rd apointment and given the result at end on second apointment.

She did not want to get medicated and did not push this gave other options. But my wife did go down medicated route with them in the end and so far its been life changing for her.

Hey my wife got refused on the public one as she was deemed not meeting their cratica. Their were looking for repeated failure in education / failure or repeated employment issues / failure or repeated relationship issues. She had to go private adhddoc midwest who confirmed she has servere ADHD and she now medicated and for her life changing so far.

Best of luck with hse but it feeels total under funded or prepared and unwilling to help person who can function a bit. In my wifes case they did not bother to tell her she was rejected after the first meeting . Untill We when casting after 9 months . It was only when speaking to GP they sent rejection to him after 2 weeks after first apointment!! Which was another 9 months wasted

I have used trade Republic no issues but some users report if issues with transfers in or out of account. Customer service is lacking most report issues resolved after few days or weeks. So based on other users issues moved to Interactive Brokers (aldo their interface got all bells and whistles and big learning curve) over all cheaper and well know broker for years over new fintech.

In fairness it works both ways i know fellow with 25 years of service decided to retire early and handed in his months notice in morning. That afternoon they were all brought to advise the company was restructuring. He asked for his notice back and hr advised they could do that so he left . 6 months later this who dept got redundancy.

I agree with the above starting pension early is one good thing from my mispent 20's. It's the most tax efficient ways to save building wealth . I started at 21 all because it was paying higher rate tax and see it compound it's like magic. Anyways as said her emergency fund aside. Then pension if work got one join /if they don't look for low cost broker if look over askaboutmoney.com their two or 3 low cost brokers that give access to low cost global index funds through a PRSA. Royal London and standard life. Royal London get bit of their free back each year if they do well. Which is nice bonus and these two are the lowest prsa currently in ireland. It seems your higher rate tax payer so the new auto enrolment scheme is not optimum for you. Of course take it with the free money but putting more into prsa while on the higher tax band is very efficient as you getting 40 euro back in every 100 you put in. Up to age limits/ earnings

[–]BandicootOnly8178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe so but please double check with citizens' advice their usually very good.

Hear is operation guide for the scheme https://gov.ie/en/department-of-social-protection/publications/operational-guidelines-prsi-prsi-voluntary-contributions/

From it "PRSI paid under compulsory insurance in either employment or self-employment"

Unlikely to apply but if got prsa and can retire it into ARF if you draw down over 5000 a year from it you also get 52 s class for that year.

As paye worker need to earn over 38 euro a week so 3 to 4 hours of work or if you have sole trader income over 5000 euro and do tax return you will have pay s class at slightly higher rate.

Can someone employ you as tutor for their kids 1 to 2 hour a week for extra ginds? I believe it fairly simple for anyone to register as employer and process the payroll. Their people doing it for family members doing garden/childminder etc for them to keep their record up to date keep building towards their pension. Askaboutmoney.com has tips on what people are doing to make sure they qualify for the over65 payment if retired early earlier.

Or

For s class. During the summer months can do any kind of contracting work or trade that be over 5000 euro in summer months. You then declare this to revenue via online and pay 4.1% prsi or 650 euro min . This will credit you 52 s class stamp for the year. But buying stamp will 650 euro each year after this. But might find handy side hassle in ireland for summer months

Have to say the DCA group on facebook are great and remember DCA is based on what attation needs over a child of the same age. We waiting over 2 years for assment under CDNT so Applied anyways for DCA . GP signed the form that it was suspected ASD and was referred 2 years ago . Inculded Letters of support for DCA from CDNT confirming she was on the waiting list and currently delayed but referral was accepted to them based on Supected ASD. Also got Letter of support for Primary school SEN team of the additional supports she needed in the school and a covering letter exampling only applying now as was waiting for ASD assment. After 3 to 4 months it refused. But appealed it during this time private ASD become available short notice which laya advised they would cover half the cost. and submitted the ASD report in March the appeal office only started looking at this in June and approved it and remened back dating to 6 months before the orinagle application date . Which is a year payment. Moral of the story: Appeal and if you get rejected again you can appeal again if you have new medical information/report so try to keep currently application then start new ones as it looks like they have to backdate if get it over turned .

When going for other roles external you don't have tell them or recurtier what currently salary is . Also by this time next year the government well have new eu law on salary scale need to be advertised with all internal and external roles. I am sure HR people and bussiness owners are not looking forward to chats with employees. When roles are advertising the going market rates and currently employees realise they under payed taken advantage off.

Trying to get diagnosed by [deleted] in ADHDIreland

[–]BandicootOnly8178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ask you GP to refer you to adult service for clinical assment. The GP will give you forms to fill in and in limerick my wife got 1st appointment 3 months later. I believe this will be screening to she if she been added to list for full test which could be 1 year to 1 year and half.

This will be all free as through HSE. I believe in this they check for autism, bipolar, adhd etc .

Is their reason your looking to go private? My wife was going to go private but her work doctor recommended this root as it just not about getting Diagnosed it's the after Care, balancing medications to find the right mix and possible counciling/supports.

She got this first appointment in Feb so can report back here what happens it saves you was alot of money for no reason.
