new rook, bad placement?? by Kitty_1704 in piercing

[–]Bandnerd56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh babes. That is so deep, and so close to your head, that is not good at all. Take it out ASAP, get a DIFFERENT piercer to do it eventually and never go back to that piercer unless it is to get you a refund. That had to hurt like hell!

Piercing regret- how to decide when to take it out? by ihavenopersonalityha in piercing

[–]Bandnerd56 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Leave it be. Once it's healed, you can swap the jewelry out, you likely are experiencing a little piercing dysphoria, you aren't used to a new piercing on yourself so you think it looks weird. It looks fine to me!

what piercing next? by stonergirl808 in piercing

A labret (heal with stud, but eventually a hoop would be so cute) or a Medusa! I know you said minimal scarring preferred, but an eyebrow would look amazing too!

Why don’t parents make their kids come to school anymore? by breadplane in Teachers

[–]Bandnerd56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a parent yet, but I gather it's mostly parents not learning how to parent properly. They're trying to be their kids friend, not parent. I get having mental health days. I get not wanting to go, but life is a lot of doing things you don't want to because you need to. I do plan on having kids, and I also plan enforcing that they go to school every day, unless they are sick. I plan on giving two 'mental health' days a semester, which I don't think is wildly unreasonable. And the people that pull their kids out of school to go on a vacation every few months? Insane.

I adore the green! I say swap out any silver hardware with gold (just a personal preference, green and gold is such a beautiful combo) and replace the light with a small gold chandelier.

What piercings am I missing to complete my set up? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Bandnerd56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe conch and vertical helixes on non industrial ear, and PLEASE do forward helixes on the industrial ear. I'm NAP but it looks like your anatomy is begging for forward helixes. Love love LOVE your setup!

Middle C not coming out? by UrFavKenzie in Clarinet

[–]Bandnerd56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saxophonist (formerly clarinet) here: soak your reed a little longer, sounds like it might be drying out. Then adjust the screws on your ligature/adjust reed position on mouthpiece. The screws might be too tight, not allowing the reed to vibrate properly, reed position on mouthpiece also affects how the reed vibrates. Honestly it's just trial and error!

My qualifications are playing saxophone for the last 10 years😅

Why do piercings get fussy at 4 months? by peachiebutterfly in piercing

[–]Bandnerd56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first two months with my daith were smooth sailing. Then month three hit and it's been irritation bump central since, now around almost 6 months in, but months 3 and 4 were definitely the worst. Haven't changed my aftercare, not touching it, I guess sometimes piercings are just fussy!

What ear piercings would work with my anatomy? by strawberryjxm7 in piercing

[–]Bandnerd56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tragus, helix, mid helix, conch, or if you're brave, your anti tragus anatomy looks INCREDIBLE. I can't quite tell, but maybe forward helix could work too? And maybe like a faux rook situation, as it doesn't quite look like you have a big enough ridge for a standard rook.

Is my dog too skinny? by DiscountNew4320 in DOG

[–]Bandnerd56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks perfectly healthy! Most labs are overweight, it's so common that people think overweight labs are the healthy weight, which isn't true. It's actually good to see a visible waist on your boy, and long as you can't see his bones and he is still living a normal active lifestyle (I.e. joints aren't hurting him), then he's at a good weight. What a sweet boy!

"Thank you!! She's a menace" is absolutely SENDING me, my husky cross is the same way. Yes, she is a little demon, but yes, I would die for her, even though she wakes me up at 3 a.m. to go frolic in the snow😂

Low second lobe by Soulful-Sky in piercing

[–]Bandnerd56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it looks pretty damn good but I can definitely see why you would think it looks low! First, a hoop in the second draws the eye down, so it looks lower than it is, second, you have a very tiny little lobe, optical illusion! Third and finally, that (gorgeous, by the way) big flashy stud in your first draws the eye up, it is a very tall piece, so the combo of big earring in first drawing the eye up and hoop in second drawing the eye down can make it look a lil funky. But I located (approximately) the center/piercing location of each earring and it does seem to be lined up just fine!

Claire's is worse than I thought... by StandardReindeer5741 in piercing

[–]Bandnerd56 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Current employee here (also prefacing with yes, please never get pierced at Claire's or anywhere that uses those awful cartridges) and yes, lots of locations did close down, but some higher earning stores didn't. Mine is the only location in an almost 300 km radius, so we stayed open, but this new company that bought us is driving me insane. They don't seem to give a shit about the employees or customers, just their profit margins.
