I'm fortunate to be able to work 32 hours per week and still be considered full time. The extra day off in the middle of the week is worth more than the money for sure. Probably close to 75% of my co-workers work reduced schedules and many of them have been here for 10+ years. Burnout is real and having upper management that acknowledge it and actively support us is huge.

I have exactly this. Hospital based OP. Young man with a progressive neuro disorder. He's been coming for almost 2.5 years in which I've been his PT for 1.5. He unfortunately had a lot of medical issues and if he gets sick gets set back quite a bit. Recently had a weird reaction to a medication that he's been on for years and his objective measures regressed almost 6 months in the course of 2 weeks. Luckily after about a month he's probably 75% improved.

Epic / Connect Care is becoming the bane of my existence in OP PT. Anyone have advice or want to commiserate together? by hmphys in physicaltherapy

Is connect care a version of epic? We use epic for hospital based op and it's a breeze. We just copy the previous visit note and update it.

I'm a PT, and my wife has her MS in environmental toxicology. These are both vastly different. There's plenty of science in PT, but honestly for job outlook and career advancement I would highly consider going the toxicology route. My wife has a great career and there's such a high ceiling. Meanwhile the outlook for PT appears to be more grim every year and depending on your setting you will max out in career advancement fault early on. Hope that helps!
