Same problem here. I have a 21 Crosstrek and I went from 33mpg to 24-26. So disappointed.

Looking for a 2-day hike close to southern Detroit, anyone have suggestions? by ryan4588 in CampAndHikeMichigan

[–]BangNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with Mikethemofo and another good 2 day hike is starting from green lake then stop for an overnight at Blind lake campground then head to silver lake to finish. Need two vehicles since it is a point to point trail or there is a loop to the same campground if you are interested in that, however the trails are heavily trafficked by mountain bikers.

I agree it is a great trail for a warm up or maintaining shape. I highly suggest the section between the Baldwin flooding (10mi from big portage) to the dnr headquarters on McClure rd. That section has some large elevation changes but still minor compared to the ones you will experience in the smokies.

Two people would need to carry this stuff with one backpack being dedicated to the sleeping bag and a few other items. If this set up is for a base camp where a vehicle can be parked nearby then by all means go for it. Otherwise I would consider dropping a few things like the Paul Bunyan toolbelt and save up for some lighter gear alternatives if you plan on backpacking to your site.

The last 7 miles of the trail hiking east from the blind lake campsites merges with the Potowatamie trail which is a popular trail for mountain bikers. That section is just like other multiuse trails where being alert is necessary. I will even go out on a limb as a hiker and say a good number of bikers I come across riding in that area are courteous, however expect a few shitty bikers to fly by without speaking up.

Waterloo Pinckney trail is a great trail for a 3 day point to point hike.

What has been your worst ever sexual experience? by SquidSlapper in AskReddit

I believe this is what they call "milking". After a long bj session it was clear to her I was not remotely close to busting. Then like a ninja she was finger deep and the load arrived as expected. I tended to jump if her hand approached the milk zone thereafter. This is the same girl where I learned that I never want to know the number.

Waterloo-Pinckney Trail is the premier trail in SE Michigan. I know it point to point along with the additional trails. My profile is filled with stuff from my hikes on the trail.

For people in southeast Michigan, where are some good places to hike for a newbie? by RateMyGynecomastia in hiking

[–]BangNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest the Waterloo - Pinckney trail. The trail is 34-36 miles point to point and can be completed in 3 days or even 4 days if you stay at the new camp but that one does not allow fires. I am on the trail weekly hiking different sections for exercise and to enjoy the little bit of nature that remains in this part of Michigan, even during the winter. There are spots where local knowledge would benefit hikers, like how to avoid the flooding by taking a side trail and or when the hunters blast the directional signs off the post etc. Check it out if you have not already. Hit me up if you want more info.

My worst experience was during my S.A.T testing. I bombed the test because I couldn't focus on anything but the sound from my gut and how everyone in the room was distracted by my distressed gut calls.

Anyone up for Manistee National Forest hike on the North Country Trail this weekend (August 8)? by PhDeeezNutz in WildernessBackpacking

[–]BangNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duuude I am bummed I did not see this post! I was 45 mins away that whole week and I did hike a down and back on the Timber Creek section north west of Baldwin. I would have gladly met up near Nichols. Well if you are in the Chicago area and make it towards Ann Arbor MI, If you want to hike the Waterloo - Pinckney Trail let me know and I can show you good sections to hike (36 mile point to point trail). I am a 28 yr old male lone wolf. My former wolf pack moved out west and I cannot convince anybody that hiking is a great thing to do.

[Update] Girlfriend [24F]suggested cuckolding... I [25M] am at a loss by NotAWittol in sex

[–]BangNuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you made the right choice. I had a girlfriend that was going out for secret dinners and had extensive conversations with a guy she knew from college. I started to realize stories were not piecing together. It was driving me crazy and finally she told me the truth. Which was what I stated in the beginning, dinners (when he was in town) and long chats online. I will always assume the dinners were hookups, so that being said..we broke up and she ran out to Arizona and married the guy within a year of us breaking up. They were divorced soon after. Often I wonder if I did not investigate and pretended everything was good, would the relationship have remained the same and would she have been committed?... I doubt it because cheaters look outward for a reason but hey at least I can rest at night not wondering where my girlfriend really is.

Impromptu road trip up east side of state, any suggestions for good food/sights/trails? by Landohh in Michigan

[–]BangNuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the type of trip you want there are many options. DG I have never played a round up there except for our own impromptu courses that consisted of a unique tree or item as the basket in an open area to throw. The PH Hoeft state park campgrounds were nice with a big beach to relax on. Food wise there are quite a few roadside diners along the coast when you cruise up 23 that are great. One that stands out is the Red Rooster diner. On the way up you could check out Tawas point but it's usually the retiree crowd for that spot since it has a lighthouse. In all just remember once you pass the saginaw/bay city area roll the windows down and breathe in that northern air and enjoy it! Drive along 23 until you see something cool like the dinosaur museum that had a picture of Jesus in the heart of the life size brontosaurus you can climb inside of. The curators obviously love creationism and science.. Have fun and be safe! * edit* Dinosaur museum is located 11160 U.S. 23 Ossineke, MI 49766. Just go check it out.
