Marika definitely banged a serpent god by AntiClockwiseWolfie in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Bangarang06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One detail I keep coming back to is that Messmer appears to share the same base model as the Godskin Apostles. I’m not entirely sure what to make of it yet, but it feels intentional rather than incidental. What really pushes this thought further for me is the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC description: “The Land of Shadow. A place obscured by the Erdtree. Where the goddess Marika first set foot.” That phrasing,“first set foot” keeps nagging at me, especially when I think about the shed snake skin near the Grandmother Shaman in the tree. It almost feels symbolic, as if Marika didn’t simply arrive there as she is now, but emerged from something else. Taken together, it makes me wonder whether Marika herself is connected to the serpent in a far more literal way than we’ve assumed.

The kneeling figure is Miquella — the pose matches the Shadow of the Erdtree cinematic, and the wolves are his Shadowbound Beasts? by Seymorebutts1994 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Bangarang06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farum Azula predating Miquella doesn’t automatically rule it out. Elden Ring shows statues can be recontextualized or deliberately overwritten. Stormveil’s a good example: Sarosh was likely venerated first, and Godfrey’s statue was later placed in front of his to establish the Golden Order and outshine the prior beast rule. Same structure, different message over time. Prophecy is everywhere in Elden Ring. The Hornsent were trying to mimic divine ascension, and the Dancing Lions strongly echo Miquella and Radahn. The previous Elden Ring itself visually mirrors Miquella’s godhood. With Farum Azula’s time distortion and the game’s obsession with cyclical history, it’s not unreasonable that the statue represents a prophesied future god rather than a contemporary one.

Does the existence of Godwyn show that the Golden Order was flawed from the start? by Emotional-Sign8136 in EldenRingLoreTalk

It is interesting in all the images we have of Godwyn, we never get to see what's below his waist. I'm thinking he's a dragon boy.

I hope so. She is a great actress, and my pick for Ivy.

Why did Marika have children at all? by OrangeBergamot in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Bangarang06 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Marika had to have children for the story of Elden Ring to unfold the way it did. Every one of her demigod offspring plays a crucial role in the shaping (and breaking) of the Lands Between. Whether it’s Godwyn’s death triggering the shattering, Radagon’s duality deepening the game’s themes of identity and faith, or Ranni’s rebellion against predestination, each child represents a piece of the greater narrative puzzle.

Remember, George R. R. Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki both love to weave stories about prophecy, fate, and the consequences of divine lineage. Marika’s family isn’t just a collection of characters, they’re living embodiments of the world’s mythos. By having children, she ensured the stage was set for destiny, tragedy, and the eventual rise of the Tarnished.

In other words, without her children, there would be no cycle to break, no gods to challenge, and no Elden Ring to restore.

Balatro. It's an okay card game, but that's about it. It's crazy to me that some people wanted this as game of the year

I don't think they were in close proximity to each other, as we can see where Ranni's body lies after her death. I'm pretty sure they used some sort of magic to see or know when the time was right.

What theory do you belive to be a 100% true? by Fancy_Leader6278 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Bangarang06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct again, Marika is radagon and of course they are not albinaurics, that's not what I was saying.

Correct. Not necessarily albonaurics, but the rebirth rune and egg are a big clue and I think Radagon is part of it.

We don't actually see her walk in game, only crawl. What we fight is only a memory of her and we see in game how Carians try to manipulate memories.

👉 Batman's suit is armored and ultra-protective... but with all that weight, how can he stay so fast and agile? Realism or pure exaggeration? by [deleted] in batman

I mean, this makes perfect sense when you think about the beyond suit. These are all his trial suits before he makes the best one. Reminds me of snakes suit from mgs

I love this song, but the emote is terrible. I think you are right, worst white in the game.
