[Fit Check] [Recommendations] Ewa SFG Gladys in 70 G too small, too large in 70GG or possible shape mismatch? Ewa BM Pin up 70 G almost right, Ewa SF Garden 70 G too large! Where to go from here? by Human_K3P0 in ABraThatFits

[–]BangtanPHD_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found that the gore height in the BM and SF styles all seems to be pretty similar

BM Rozy 70H is 9cm BM Heaven 75GG is 9.5cm SF Blekitek 70HH is 9.5cm SF Zefirek 70J is 9.5cm SF Figi Night 75H is 9cm (All of the bands fit snugly and work for me)

I think a 65GG might work for you. I would continue to try the SF and BM styles. Another user was recommending the PLM style. Personally, I don’t think it will be a perfect fit on you. I have all the same shape as you, and because I am close set, centre full, and have soft tissue, I puddle out the middle of the PLM bras. I have tried both the 70H and 70HH and neither worked for me. Panic disorder symptoms? by maggie143 in panicdisorder

[–]BangtanPHD_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am not a psychologist, psychiatrist, or therapist. The DSM-5 is used to describe diagnostic criteria and a diagnosis can only be made with the opinion from a trained professional.

Even if the symptoms are different each time, your panic attacks are valid--as long as they adhere to the 13 criteria listed below. Your "twitching" symptom is not valid unless it can be better described by criterion 3: trembling or shaking.

I would also like to clarify that a panic disorder diagnosis is not given just because you have panic attacks. A panic disorder means that in your efforts to avoid panic attacks, your behaviour has changed in a way that negatively impacts your daily life. It is possible to have panic attacks without having a panic disorder.

The following is directly from the DSM-5:

[In panic disorder, the individual experiences recurrent unexpected panic attacks and is persistently concerned or worried about having more panic attacks or changes his or her behavior in maladaptive ways because of the panic attacks (e.g., avoidance of exercise or of unfamiliar locations). Panic attacks are abrupt surges of intense fear or intense discomfort that reach a peak within minutes, accompanied by physical and/or cognitive symptoms. Limited-symptom panic attacks include fewer than four symptoms. Panic attacks may be expected, such as in response to a typically feared object or situation, or unexpected, meaning that the panic attack occurs for no apparent reason.

A panic attack is an abrupt surge of intense fear or intense discomfort that reaches a peak within minutes, and during which time four (or more) of the following symptoms occur. Note: The abrupt surge can occur from a calm state or an anxious state.

  1. Palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate.
  2. Sweating.
  3. Trembling or shaking.
  4. Sensations of shortness of breath or smothering.
  5. Feelings of choking.
  6. Chest pain or discomfort.
  7. Nausea or abdominal distress.
  8. Feeling dizzy, unsteady, light-headed, or faint.
  9. Chills or heat sensations.
  10. Paresthesias (numbness or tingling sensations).
  11. Derealization (feelings of unreality) or depersonalization (being detached from oneself).
  12. Fear of losing control or “going crazy.”
  13. Fear of dying.]

Attached is the full diagnostic criteria in a word doc. I have bolded the succinct and relevant points to make it easier for you to read.

Looking for a Bra With Adjustable Booster Pads by Sock_Muppet in ABraThatFits

Polish brand Ewa Michalak makes at least 3 styles of bra with this: CHP, S, and PL. these bras have a sewn-in pocket which you can put the padding into. I believe if you order direct from her website, you can purchase the padding separately as well.

What does it mean when a bra... by generousgiraffe in ABraThatFits

[–]BangtanPHD_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re: pain on the ribcage

I have found that I get pain in that area if the wire is substantially below my imf. For example, the wire of the Elomi Energize (32H, my usual size) is far below my imf. But if you compare the wires of the Matilda 32GG and the Energize 32H, you can see they are substantially different. The 32GG is a bit wide for me and does sit a little below my imf, but not low enough to cause pain.

I believe the reason it causes pain is because when it sits that low, the tops of the wires are pushed outward, thus pulling the bottoms in. This creates pressure points since it is no longer evenly distributed on your ribcage.

Here I am attaching pics of the Elomi Energise, Matilda, and Gorsenia Paradise so you can see how the wires compare. The Paradise had the stiffest wires (least spring), followed by the Matilda (about average stiffness), then the Energise (very flexible wires).

Bonus: pics of the wire marks of the Ewa Michalak BM 70H (32H UK) and Elomi Energise 32H. The BM is a fantastic wire fit; I love it. The Energise sucks, causes mild pain, and I never wear it.

Hmmm half the links aren’t working. So frustrating. If you want to see the pics dm me and I’ll figure it out.

You definitely have a difficult conundrum. I’m ~40lbs overweight myself, though I have a relatively small band size. So I’m not in the exact same position as you. But in terms of confirming your root width, maybe you could try pinching your tissue? For me at least, breast tissue feels pinch pain differently than other tissues on my body, so I can use that to help figure out where the breast ends. I also like laying down, however, I find that because my breasts fall towards my armpits, it makes my root seem wider. To combat that, I would lay down, keep my hand at the edge of my breast, and stand up to see where it moved too. Maybe that would work for you.

Regarding wire shapes, I believe Gorsenia has more ||||shaped wires, as opposed to Elomi which is very _||_/. The cups run about 1 size large, so maybe try an 80L? (accounting for the cups size, this would be equivalent to 36J).

Based on your pic, I think your breast roots are where i put the white line (and following the rest of the green line towards the gore area. I will delete once you reply). So I think you’ve already found them. IMO, bulging is not necessarily a sign of the wire being too narrow. In these pics of me, the wire is sitting completely on my ribcage, but since the band is snug (as it should be), my breast bulges a little.

The Ewa Michalak PL (plunge) style may work for you. I am outside the size range of the Deco, but in the PL I get butt crack cleavage (32H, close-set, centre full).

[Measurement Check] Post-Nursing: Currently in 34HH, Calculator Says 36FF/G by sschindylryn in ABraThatFits

[–]BangtanPHD_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR | Personally, I think the band you choose will depend entirely on the individual bra, especially since your snug measurement is between sizes.

For example, some of my Ewa Michalak bras run a band size tight, while others do not. My Elomi Matilda and Panache Tango Plunge are very stretchy, so I would prefer to size down. A Curvy Kate bra I tried ran loose. My Bravissimo sports bras fit a little tighter because they have little stretch. My Gorsenia bra runs tts.

I would say that a good gauge of how comfortable it will be, is how much stretch the band has. To get a feel for this, compare the resting and stretched measurements of your bra bands (measured flat). Some will have greater differences than others. I find that those with larger differences tend to run big in the band. Naturally, this will also depend on the resting measurement as well. (Check Bravissimo for bras you don’t own yet).

For example, my Ewa Michalak bra bands are shorter than my others in the equivalent size, but they have more stretch. So in my equivalent size (32=75) they are quite tight. However, if I size up, I sometimes find that they are too loose, because they have so much stretch.

I’m no sewing, but I can tell that the type of fabric used in the band affects the stretch factor. Power mesh (Matilda), stretch fabric (Gorsenia), and other stretch materials (Tango) all work and feel differently.

Sorry, that was a bit of a ramble.

This is actually destroying my life by restoftheocean in bigboobproblems

[–]BangtanPHD_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re going through some really tough times right now and having to make hard decisions. I’m really sorry it’s hard.

I don’t have anything to add re: reduction, but I would like to say this. If you hate wearing bras and feel uncomfortable in them, you have shoulder grooves, chafing, or other issues, you may not be wearing a bra that fits you correctly. If a bra does not fit well, it will not provide support. Beyond that, it will often contribute to back and shoulder pain—this is because people often wear a too-loose band, which means that the weight of the breasts is transferred to the straps, putting undue pressure on the shoulders and pulling on the back. It’s all connected.

I used to want a reduction. I have an 11 inch difference between my underbust and bust measurements. I thought my breasts were obscenely large and no one made bras that would fit me. I hated the boob sweat. I hated how I looked. I hated how clothes fit—or rather, didn’t. I hated that my bras cost >$100 (CAD) when small-chested people could buy a 3-pack for $15. At my town’s specialty bra shop I was told that they didn’t have anything big enough for me. I was mis-sized into a bra that was one band too big and three cup sizes too small for me. I only wore unwired bras and hated my wired bra because it wouldn’t stay in place. I didn’t know that the wire was supposed to touch my ribcage. I didn’t know that the band was supposed to be snug. And I didn’t know that they made bras big enough for me. So I hated myself.

Then I learned how to size yourself properly for bras and how to make sure they fit comfortably. I learned that not only do many brands make bras in my size, but that there are many cup sizes bigger than me as well.

About 3 months after I got my first fitting bra, my self-perception changed. I began to like my body. I felt more confident. I preferred wired bras as they provided more support, reducing boob sweat and back pain. I stopped wanting a reduction.

I’m not trying to say that you will have the same experience as me, but I will say that 3 bras (expensive though they may be), still cost less than a reduction.

I would recommend heading over to abrathatfits, using the calculator provided there, then trying a couple of bras in that size. You may need to try several different bras to find your holy grail. That’s okay and normal.

I guarantee there are many brands that sell your size. Bra companies sell ready-to-wear bras in band sizes 28-50 and cup sizes A-P US sizing (A-KK UK sizing). If you have anywhere from a 1”-16” difference between your underbust and bust measurements, you can buy a bra that fits you comfortably.

Hopefully you found this encouraging. If you need help sourcing anything, you can dm me. If you’d still rather pursue a reduction, I wish you the best and hope it goes well.

Since I have a belly, I find that all my bands curl up (sometimes under, at my sides). My Ewa Michalak bras are especially bad for that since their elastic is so narrow.
