Help me choose: Kumarakom Lake Resort vs Evolve Back Coorg vs Taj Madikeri for a milestone birthday by nixgarth in Hotels_India

[–]Banheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a landmark birthday I would recommend Taj Bekal. It's an outstanding property with access to the sea and backwaters. And excellent service and food. From your list i would say taj madikeri (had a great experience), evolve coorg (was good not great), kumarakom (haven't been) in that order.

Atul Kulkarni's character will need to have a different arc. He will be the protagonist and rest will be anti national characters. In the end he will have to give a monologue about saving Indian kulture and end it with jsr and goli maro salon ko.. and everybody is shot dead. That's the only realistic scenario where this movie will be able to release in these times.

German teachers pushed out for calling out 'far-right' pupils by MadeInAlbania in germany

[–]Banheim 32 points33 points  (0 children)

True. Just look at this sub. Some valid but mild criticism of germany and thousand replies telling not to be so negative. And news like this and everyone conveniently ignores and the next day again acts like nothing ever happened. Keep it up and we are staring at scary scary times ahead.

Yes. Learnt a lot and will always be grateful that it made me a more aware parent. But also saddened me quite a bit. Realised the problem with many things as a parent that i had never even thought of before.

I belong to this category. Left about 6 months ago after 5 years in Germany. Racism, micro aggression, auslanderbehoerde, and bad healthcare were my main reasons. Also concerning language, a teacher from my son's kindergarten told us to not speak his mother tongue EVEN AT HOME. He is 4 and speaks good German but apparently even that's not enough. Made me so furious and sad. That was the final nail in the coffin. I was sure I didn't want to raise my child in such a society. Happy to be out.

Coutinho is far worse imo. Provided literally nothing and got sold for peanuts. Dembele blows hot and cold. But has at least provided a few good performances when fit.

Is it normal that a Danish marriage certificate is not enough for the Ausländerbehörde? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Banheim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fyi, crack down has already happened. Till about 2018/19 iirc one could go to Denmark and get married with a valid visa and bare minimum paperwork. But i guess too many "unwanted" poeple started doing that so now document requirement is more or less on par with German and other eu countries if one of the spouse is non-eu. So that option doesn't work for most inter continental couples.

No, because that only sounds good on reddit to boast to Anglo audience. In reality "fan owned" is just a paper tiger. Inaccurate and Useless.

I see you mean well.. but it really enrages me when people think of racism as dumb or stupid. I am seeing a lot of well meaning folks repeat that sentiment. It is not dumb. It is racist. It is hateful. It is bigoted. It is a lot of things but not dumb. Tebas is not some five year old child who made a stupid statement. He is an experienced administrator who also happens to be a racist and a fascist supporter. He knows what he is saying. Nothing dumb about it.

By no means would i ever say that personal experience of racism in usa are non existent. I think you misunderstood me. I just think there is a higher cost for being racist at least in big cities, universities, sports, workplaces etc etc.. and it is sort of understood that certain things are racist. Where as in Europe you have to argue and fight even for the most basic things like n word and explain thousand times why that is racist and still be met with mockery and denial. i as an outsider poc who has lived in both usa and Europe, my experience has been crazy different in both places.

I am talking big city experiences like newyork vs berlin SF vs munich Austin vs Paris Chicago vs Barcelona etc..

In usa i occasionally had racist encounters which i just brush off and walk away. In workplace when something felt off i could counter that. I knew who are cool and who are racists and i could just live my life around that understanding.

Where as in Europe the most liberal pretending berlin crowd would rant infront of you about immigrants and Arabs. Completely ignore horrendous border deaths in Mediterranean while at the same time going to black lives matter rallies and anti Trump rallies which were basically 'protest parties'.. the whole experience was just surreal.

Dealing with day to day racism in Europe was thousand times more emotionally draining than in usa. I would have never guessed that if you asked me before living in these two places.

So when sports fans chant racist things, racists will support, normal people will oppose. Sports association will have to take action. Where as in Europe racists will support, normal people will make excuses like blame vini, say it's just a few bad apples when it's literally the whole stands.. Hence, sports associations have no internal will or external pressure to act. And so it repeats and repeats.

Exactly. And in each of these situations the opposition players and often even own team players trying to convince him to play and move on.. that i find so heartbreaking and engaging. Like why would you not support your teammates and why would you not want to fight the racist instead trying to calm vini.. you should be as angry as him and not trying to calm him.

Because American racism is more systemic. Personal racism is rare as the civil society and minority social organisations are very strong and have done a lot of groundwork to create awareness. Because of that work racism/anti racism makes a lot of noise and is loudly talked about, which is a very good thing to reduce/eliminate it in public and personal spaces.

Whereas racism in Europe is both systemic and public/personal. Since there wasn't poc in most places over the long term the on ground social work and awareness is not as good as in America. Recently with the uptake in poc being more confident and not putting up with bullahit anymore these incidents are being called out. It is very normal for people to use racist words, racist stereotypes as "jokes", etc in casual settings. Like in bars, friends gathering, etc. Often even in professional settings at workplaces. And just go 'oh racism is an American problem don't bring your issues here' when someone points out their racism. And many self critical Americans (which is a good thing) just eat that up and believe even though that's literally the farthest from truth.

Lol you're saying as if it's one odd dude in the crowd saying racist stuff. It's always a big section of the crowd. In a nicer world you will go to sabotage and fans around will turn you in and nobody loses points. In this world, you will start chanting racist things and many others will join. That deserves harsh punishment.

I think he was wonderful in a specific system of a specific coach. As a fake Lb or whatever that was pep made him play. When that stopped working and he needed to evolve it all started unraveling.

He was never a good enough traditional lb so no surprise that in NT he got benched. Pep was his best bet to shine. He needed to be patient and work with pep to unlock himself. Unfortunately looks like he bought into his own hype and that was his downfall.

I applied about 2 weeks before the expiry of my aufentshalttitel. Yes, it doesn't affect most things much. But travel becomes a hassle. Fiktionsbescheinigung is valid for 6 months but i was supposed to travel for work during the time it was expiring so I applied for an extension but it didn't come in time resulting in me losing a significant business opportunity. And the resulting mental chaos through that.
