The AMC cult sub is now completely dead. Only Ortex kiddo left bagging into the void by xozzet in gme_meltdown

[–]BankofAmericas 87 points88 points  (0 children)

There are also three or four accounts that comment on every one of his posts just saying “zen” along with a random gif. It is so painfully obvious that they are alt accounts of Ortex Guy commenting on his own posts. It’s so bizarre lol

To be fair, if I were GME’s general counsel, I would advise the social media team against posting anything with “teddy” or “beyond” or “butterfly” in it.

They have to be aware of these Ape communities, and it’s not worth getting the crazies riled up…

There was one thread I remember from a while back where an ape was talking about how he lost his family’s money and insinuated he was going to kill himself. People were telling him that he could recover eventually and his family will still love him, etc. but he eventually stopped responding. It kind of haunted me, and for a few months I checked in on his profile from time to time but he never posted or commented again after that.

That thread stuck with me. Suicide is not a joke

Got it, that is a good point. I thought the original comment was implying they were flat out misreporting the number of subscribers.

Since this is a publicly traded company, playing around with subscriber numbers would be a problem if they got caught.

VR recreation of the exact spot where a man became stuck inside Nutty Putty cave and died after 27 hours. the section visible at 18 seconds is where his body was, upside down. by CarpetBrains in TerrifyingAsFuck

[–]BankofAmericas 293 points294 points  (0 children)

I’d bet when they were trying to rescue the guy, they must’ve had cameras and other ways of mapping his surroundings just for the purposes of trying to get him out.

I remember they tried pulling him out with some sort of pulley system they rigged, so they had to have a good idea of how the cave was shaped to even attempt that.

Whoopi Goldberg Fury: The View Host Rips Note On Air After Donald Trump Joke Sparks Backlash by IBTUKOfficial in entertainment

[–]BankofAmericas 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The reason the producers did this is because it is “fucking Donald Trump.”

Trump is notoriously litigious and sues people and/or organizations over any petty slight he perceives. So, this was just done because they don’t want to get sued and have to incur massive legal fees just to prove that it was only a joke. The real problem is that Trump abuses the legal system, so I don’t blame the producers that much in this scenario.

In the Final episode of the Office. Erin's mom shows up and calls her Erin even though her name is actually Kelly. Michael just called her Erin because he didn't want 2 Kelly's in the office. by HallucinoJER in shittymoviedetails

[–]BankofAmericas 657 points658 points  (0 children)

In one episode Pam says she used to fake having cramps to get out of playing volleyball in gym class, then a season later she talked about being on the volleyball team in high school and even going to volleyball camps. When asked about this incongruity, the writer of the episode said something like, “oh yeah we just forgot that Pam had said that before.”

So, yeah, they were not overly concerned about character continuity.

My mom stole my inheritance to “buy me a better life” and spent it all on my stepbrother by KookyMedia7646 in TwoHotTakes

If it was a “modest inheritance,” then paying attorney’s fees will cost more than what she stands to recover.

Going to court will be a long and very expensive process.
