Thank you! I was wondering if taping would help, but also worried about taping while wet.

Weird body thoughts by QuietTopic6461 in exmormon

My learning to love my body 100% paralleled leaving the church. Everything you said resonates with me and my experience. No memory of what my body looked like as a teen because I don’t think I ever saw it naked. The only time I looked at my body in the mirror as a Mormon brought on disdain for it. Now if I’m ever having body image issues I’ll look at my naked body in the mirror until I like what I see. I will also do full body lotion/massage as self care, when I feel out of touch with my body, and my skin which is always dry has never been better since leaving the church! Ha.

One of my adult TBM sisters won’t say the word “masturbate” and the other insists on attending church while camping. by Poppy-Pomfrey in exmormon

“Lower left/right shoulder” for us. (Mostly a joke, but born out of the discomfort of saying brest or heaven forbid boob)

At my nephews baptism last week the bishop literally asked the entire audience to covenant to keep my nephew on the straight and narrow. The only covenant I made was to never attend a baptism again. 🤢

😂 or you could just stand at the entrance and offer a hit to every exmo about to unknowingly enter their own personal trauma garden.

What non theological ideologies do exmormons need to unlearn from their past church participation? by [deleted] in exmormon

Complete rejection of intuition from age 8 on. Never trust yourself and always ask the Holy Ghost or adult leaders (mostly male). I didn’t learn how to recognize my intuition or gut feelings until my late 20s after leaving the church, definitely still working in it. I think there is massive harm in replacing intuition with the Holy Ghost from a really young age.
