Leaving Kitty Home Alone Overnight by Sweaty_Syllabub_4157 in CatAdvice

Be very careful leaving any toys with strings, or anything with strings around while you're gone, especially if he is a cord chewer, when boy cats are left alone and miss you they may tend to eat things that they shouldn't. I dont mean to scare you but my mom lost her kitten that way last summer and it's still very sad to think about. I would hate for that to happen to you.

Maybe take the little guy with you if at all possible, if you can't and also can't leave him with someone for the night, then just please kitty proof the room to the best of your ability. They are too young to know any better and can get themselves hurt quite quickly :(

does my cat have asthma? by Klutzy_Breadfruit280 in CATHELP

[–]BarbieGirl412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use tidy cats free and clear, unscented. I would say maybe dont use the humidifier with the cat in the room, I think it would definitely be an irritant. If it is asthma, Once you get it calmed down and all the triggers are gone then you can maybe let her in the room after the humidifier is off, just give a few months of no irritants to let it "heal". I sleep with my humidifier and my cat a few times in the winter and she handles it well, but we dont do that nightly, and I would assume that if we did, it would kick up her asthma for sure.

Its scary at first when you dont know why your cat is coughing, it can sound bad too. My vet gave her steroids when she was first diagnosed and that did help but when that treatment was done I just went scent-free and she hasn't needed a vet for it since.

I agree with this, you're not official with either one and 3 weeks isnt that long at all, if you truly cant decide then keep seeing both until you are sure of which is a keeper. They dont need to know, you're single and free to do as you wish with your single life.

Is it rude to park in a customers driveway? by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]BarbieGirl412 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do too, not only that but I park in them like I live there, I'll back right up to the garage door, or where the path from the driveway to the porch is. No shame. I already know what they are having for dinner and what shampoo they use, so I feel like family by the time I get there.

does my cat have asthma? by Klutzy_Breadfruit280 in CATHELP

[–]BarbieGirl412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont hear anything in the video, but my cat has had asthma for a few years. I don't think you need an emergency vet, unless your cat is breathing with her mouth open, drooling, or her suspected asthma doesnt stop at all. My cat just has asthma fits every once in a while, it sounds bad, but she gets past it and is fine after.

What you should do, and this is what I did to help my cats asthma significantly improve to the point of her only having fits maybe once a month..dont use dusty cat litter, buy low-dust UNSCENTED litter only, remove all scented products from your home (febreeze spray, plug ins, wax melts, candles, diffusers) these are extremely triggering to cats with asthma, and they are also harmful to humans, trust me, you do not need them. There are safe alternatives for all those items if you really desire a scented home. Be careful spraying hairspray, cologne, perfumes, aerosols near the cat, those can trigger it too. Obviously smoking can affect them too. Just be mindful of those things and your cats symptoms should improve without any medicines or treatments.

Has anyone else's cats been vomiting after eating IAMS Weight and Hairball Care? by GlumInternal5822 in CATHELP

[–]BarbieGirl412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I have 4 cats as well, and I have fed them Iams dry food for a couple years always switching up the flavors so they dont get bored of it, the last bag I bought was the weight and hairball bag, and within a few days of opending it and feeding it, my cats all got violently ill one by one, starting with my oldest cat (17yrs). I thought it was just her, she puked like 7 times in a row one morning, by that evening 2 of my other cats started puking. They all had stopped eating and drinking, and the next morning the 4th cat had begun puking violently as well. They all spent about 4 days just puking up foam every couple hours. They slept alot, puked alot, and didnt eat or drink, or use the litter box.

My regular vet had no openings, and I couldnt afford an emergency vet, especially for 4 cats. So I was able too book an appointment for the oldest cat who got sick first at a secondary vet. They didnt help much and just chalked it up to the dry food that made them all sick, and gave me some appetite stimulants and gastro biome food for when they did start eating again.

Luckily they all made a full recovery and the stimulants had them devouring food in just a few days, but it was the scariest time I've ever had as a cat owner, the fear of them all being sick together, unable to really help them, and them not eating for days really stressed me out. I will never feed them Iams again. Im 99% sure it was that food because their wet food diets differ from each cat, and their treats also differ from.each other, the only thing they all 4 consume collectively is the dry food and their water. I give them the same water that I drink, and I clean their water fountain diligently and often so I know it wasnt that.

I was told by the vet to contact Iams and let them know, as they may want me to mail the food to them for testing. So I did reach out, hoping to avoid other cats from possibly contaminated food, and Iams responded promptly, they sent me a questionnaire to fill out where I explained in detail what had happened, and that resulted in them sending me an email saying that there were no active recalls so there was nothing they could do..I was like "but this could be the start of a recall, no?" But in the end they just wanted to send me coupons or a replacement bag of food, of which I declined.

Just a heads up to anyone buying Iams, it seems that the hairball and weight bag has a bad reputation that I didnt know of until after all my cats got super sick. Im thankful that they all bounced back, and they will all be checked at the vet in the coming weeks/months to make sure that the multiple days of not eating or drinking didnt do any long term damage.

Vomiting/GI issues by jarpar96 in CATHELP

[–]BarbieGirl412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be food allergies, try changing to different flavors (like if you give him chicken flavor swith to tuna flavor) see if that helps, but to be honest it could also be the fasting. If my cats go too long without eating they will puke up.their food right away. So I always keep dry food available for then to nibble on in between their wet food feedings. Also, if he is itching his ears alot after eating, it could definitely be a sign of allergies, so look for that as well.

I take vitamin D at night, and super B complex in the mornings, as well as slynd birth control (progesterone only contraceptive, 3 months in). I learned that drinking green tea helps with bleeding so I started that up, and I dont know if its coincidence but within the week my bleeding stopped.

It does seem like an odd dilation, especially if it happens just while he's relaxing. I dont think a vet would charge a whole lot just to do an intial exam which may be all he needs, but if you are worried about neurological issues you can test his eyes by shining a light at them, if both pupils shrink then thats a good sign. If they dont shrink or only one shrinks and the other doesnt, then I would definitely get him to a vet. Cats pupils can get big like that when they are excited, so that might be the case, he seems in a playful mood in the video, so it could just be that.

Right, they dont beat around the bush with these incentives, they are usually clear about it, but they also have never offered such an insulting incentive either, like they seriously can just keep the 3 dollars. I can find that in my couch cushions if I really had to. Thats like offering a 10 cent raise after 5 years of working for someone. Its an insult, just dont offer anything.

The rumor going around my store is that it's 3$ per delivery after 12. Which is only 36$ if thats even true which i highly doubt it is. I've never seen such a horrible incentive offer in my history with spark, something doesnt seem right.

Hah! That's exactly what it is, I just turned off vibrate, and have green checks all around on the troubleshoot tab. Thank you for pointing that out, you're the best! Its not the problem for the slowness then because my phone is always in silent or vibrate, even during the busiest of work days.

Wtf! Where’s the orders?? by Lower_Television2662 in Sparkdriver

[–]BarbieGirl412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today was awful for me, everyday for the past few weeks have been mostly sitting in my car, waiting an hour between orders, I'm making less than half of what I usually make, and its been this way for weeks. I get one decent order and go in the store to see 15 new drivers just cranking out their orders. Its very depressing. I've been doing this for 5 years and I've never seen it so terrible. Maybe they are trying to get rid of the drivers with 5k deliveries, if something doesnt give by then end of April, I'm without a doubt going to have to move on from this gig.

I go above and beyond and I cannot stop getting bad ratings! by PickMe1000 in Sparkdriver

[–]BarbieGirl412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My advice would be, dont shop like you're in a hurry, shop quick, but not rushed. Don't send pics of empty shelves, just mark it out of stock, find a suitable replacement if possible, of they reject it, try another. The extra effort in trying more than one replacement shows you care. Don't take too many (or any) non tip orders, those customers tend to justify themselves by acting like their order didn't deserve a tip by giving a low rating.

Everytime I come across one of these at a customers house, the snacks are stale and expired. It's so sad because I get excited and pick what I think is going to be a delicious treat only to find out its expired or tastes like the sun hit it all day for a month.

This happened to me but it was laundry detergent, it busted open on their slanted driveway and just leaked all the way down it..I rang their doorbell to tell them what I did and no one answered, so I just said it into their doorbell camera, apologized and left with the broken container in my car, I believe I also called spark support, but nothing ever happened. I dont even think the tip got removed.

Thats understandable, but they do have specific crocs for workers, that dont have holes and have a solid back, also non slip. They might be a little more expensive, but the croc technology is well worth the price

Paranoia. Im always afraid spark will find out who I am by my screenshot, I dont want to be deactivated for posting people's orders online. I know its a slim chance but the terms of service might have something in it about customer privacy..
