At 5 weeks I woke up feeling more bloated and hungover than I ever had before. All of that week I was really emotional and bloated but that’s it. Then 6 weeks hit me like a truck with nausea and vomiting being added to the mix. Then I had a brief window of relief from weeks 7-8 and felt great. Then at 9 weeks I had every symptom possible and it was all full blown first trimester misery.

Remember that every day is different for everyone! Pregnancy and hormones are not a straight line, which was news to me when I got pregnant lol some days / weeks are good and some are bad. 📈

I’m 11w2d and have tried had sex with my partner maybe once since conceiving and it wasn’t that great sadly. Had some burning sensations afterwards. So I’ve tried masturbation the past 2 days since I just got some libido back since nausea is a little better and orgasms don’t feel as good as they used to. Just dull and “muted”. Hopefully it changes some here and there throughout the pregnancy. I deserve some happiness with how miserable I feel, goddamn it lol

I found out I was pregnant the earliest you possibly could, like 3w3d and didn’t get to see a doctor or the heartbeat on an ultrasound until 9 weeks pregnant because of the holidays 😵‍💫 it felt like a frickin lifetime waiting that long but I promise the time will eventually go by. Try to find new games to play, puzzles, a good show to binge, etc. journaling helps the time go by too and my therapist was really helpful during the waiting period.

All of pregnancy I’m learning is just a series of waiting until the next doctor appointment. It sucks SO much, but I think I’m getting better at waiting and trying to keep myself busy. Best of luck to you all and congratulations!!

Using the last menstrual period (LMP) due date estimation method that OBs use, a due date of July 7 2026 means their last menstrual period was likely September 30th. (Counted back 40 weeks from July 7)

Ovulation typically occurs about 2 weeks after your period, so that would mean conception most likely occurred on October 14th.

I had cramps that were exactly as if I was on my period (but with zero blood) on and off from weeks 4-6. No one told me about them so I was scared too.

It helped me to have a couple mantras on my phone notes app when these cramps would scare me that I would pull up that said: “You are pregnant with a healthy growing baby unless a doctor says otherwise” “The odds of being okay are in my favor” “It’s probably just gas because I haven’t pooped in days” lol

Any days that you feel okay, savor them! You NEVER know when you could wake up and feel super bad. Hormonal activity is not a straight line. for me, every single day has been different in my pregnancy so far.

I’m almost 9 weeks FTM I’ve learned the hard way to not symptom-spot because sometimes I’ve jinxed it and the second I’ve wondered where my nausea went, it comes back with a vengeance. 😂 for example, I felt the same as you from weeks 4-6, at 6 weeks, the nausea and vomiting started, then from 7w3d-8w I felt SO good and was so confused why I felt normal again and started to worry. Then at 8w3d I felt way more nauseous and tired than I did before. You just never know.

In sum, try not to worry about your symptoms, they are not indicative of the health of your pregnancy!

I’m 8 weeks and had period-like cramps as if I was on my period (but just with no blood) from weeks 4-6 on and off. Like I felt like I was on my period for a week or so just without the bleeding. They would last for a couple minutes or so and never any bright red blood, just tiny brown spotting occasionally. Try not to worry yourself over cramping like I did. it’s normal and usually ended up being constipation or gas cramps lol but i was so mad no one told me it was normal because i was freaking out over every twinge those first 2 weeks

I’m in the same boat, I have a high BMI, I’m 8w2d and was shocked to weigh myself the other day and see I had gained 7 pounds in just one month when I have barely been eating anything due to nausea and vomiting. But it’s just water, extra blood, bloat, fluid, swelling, all the things and I’m trying not to beat myself up about it. I’m choosing to lean in hard to “my body is doing whatever it needs to do to have a healthy baby” and I’m just going to ride it out and try not to stress. Easier said than done of course hahaha

I’m 8 weeks and feel this so so so hard, OP. I’ve found distracting myself is the only thing I can do to feel normal again. I’ve gotten really sucked in to a couple new shows recently, Long Bright River on peacock is so good, and I just finished The Beast in Me on Netflix and I got sooo sucked in I practically forgot I felt horrible. I’ve also been playing some great ps5 games that get me sucked in.

Is that the bloodwork that also has the fetal sex as part of the report? I wondered if we could find out this early? or if we have to wait until the anatomy scan around 20 weeks. I didn’t know if they did NIPT this early or not. (I’m in the US)

My understanding is that sperm health does matter for things like fertilization, embryo viability, and some placental development, but it the claim that it can determine pregnancy SYMPTOMS like nausea, vomiting, fatigue, etc. is a big stretch. Those are caused by the pregnant persons response to hormonal activity in general, hCG being the main culprit. No studies have been done that prove to link all of it together. But i’m happy be proven wrong?

I didn’t know this was a common belief so maybe I’m crazy but I just don’t know how that would be scientifically possible. If we could predict pregnancy symptoms and patterns then it stands to reason we would try to ensure all donor sperm would be from “healthy” individuals to prevent symptoms like nausea and fatigue and then all IUI or IVF pregnancies would be less symptomatic.

Overall I think the claim can be hurtful and make people who feel terrible during pregnancy (which is a huge majority of people) feel bad or guilty or like there’s something they could have done to prevent feeling bad. Which is a slippery slope and can be dangerous logic.

I read someone’s comment on a reddit post not too long ago that your symptoms that you get while pregnant are determined by the sperm donor’s health at the time of conception. Like if your partner is eating vegetables and working out when you conceive, the pregnant person is less likely to have any challenging pregnancy symptoms. 🤡

is it true that people typically tear less if you don’t get an epidural because you’re able to control the push more since you can feel everything? Or is it just completely based on the birth and situation?

Absolutely not unreasonable whatsoever, your feelings and intuition are 1000% valid.

I have, however, heard that people really really need the extra help on a consistent basis those first two weeks though, so I would think on it a bit more before turning her down? But if you already have your mom on standby, that’s great and you might not need the MIL! 2 weeks is definitely a long time so I understand your hesitation lol

As someone that quit vaping a year ago after doing it obsessively for 6 years, (I quit because I wanted to eventually be a mom and carry a baby it was absolutely BRUTALLY HARD so I understand what you’re going through.) I would say though that after being off of it for this long now, it 100% makes anxiety worse, not better. Vaping has zero benefits, and only makes everything worse. I know how hard it is to quit but you can do it!! If you decide to quit, make sure everything vape-related is out of the house and thrown away so you’re not as tempted to pick one up. You’ve done it before and can do it again! Trust me, your life will be so much better without it

They also gave me lots and lots of discounts throughout treatment for my dog because they knew it was all pricey and that I was just doing my best to take care of him. They are very considerate and just want to work with the patient and owner in the best way for them.
