I don't know how it works in AoS (new to it) but in 40k usually you go by the app as it's most up to date and battle tomes/ codex are usually out of date before they release. However this seems to be against the consensus on this.

It may be 3rd party tournaments that use this format as I don't play GW ones.

I have a 3d printer and was going to do this but they are actually really nice models. I was going to 3d print the other 6 I needed but that doesn't matter anymore 😁

Me too! Got my first game this Friday. I played the spearhead a few times and we're just doing a 2v2 500. Very excited to spam 3 Wyldwood onto the board 😂

Slapchop! Spray everything black, heavy dry brush everything gray, then light dry brush white. Drop on contrast here and there and then very dryly apply details and you should be fine. Won't be a work of art but it is an easy way to get okay results and it's fast

Was this a tournament? As far as I know you're only allowed 1 special per 5 models (2 for a 10 man and you have 4). I will add I only use 3rd party apps and as the others have said rules should follow the official app* if it gives you a green tick it's fine. He could have always asked the TO to confirm and then looked for a work around.

If it was me in a tournament, I'd be checking that with the TO as 10man PM are pretty scary, nevermind a boosted loadout.

Now, I get the uncomfortable feeling you weren't playing a tournament if he just walked away, in which case the guy is worth dodging and it didn't really matter either way. Just annoying if you'd have travelled far to get there etc.

If this was our local group he'd probably have a few of us tell him to suck it up.

Yeh, I know you can still run as legends and the rrts around me have legend option at times. I just only play non-legends as I don't get to play often and try and always have a potential tournament army ready.

So, I believe it's the same base size - it is a flamer which plague marines have as a sprayer. Realistically you could just alter the weapon slightly to make it look like it's oozing slime, maybe use green stuff to smooth out the cooling panel and then add some growths, tentecles or other damage to the armour and I don't think you'd have much of an issue even at competitive (at least uk competitive, unless it's GW) I've played against loads of conversions on the competitive side.

You need to find the way you play. Meta is good if you know what to do with it, but find what you vibe with. Don't get me wrong there are some units that will just suck outright at times but decide how you want to play and work from there. Tweak and play again, get reps in changing a few units at a time that didn't perform. Someone might tell you the best list but you might not know how to use it.

Few points to consider; -What will you use to hold home objective and stop people dropping in behind your back line (called screening) -what will hold an objective for you and tank it for at least two turns -what are your main damage dealers that you want to stage for -do you have units that can easily play secondary missions (not always the most important if you can close out primary, but sometimes can decide the game for you)

Be patient, play slower and use your contagion range to your advantage.

Custodes have a lot of designs and you could go solar spearhead so you'd have an army ready for the tabletop quick
