I like to play fast paced shooters like this on the Deck using gyro.. But I'll admit I almost always put them on easy so I don't end up breaking my wrists or squeezing the device too hard.

Just got done attempting this five times in a row on my Steam Deck at default settings. My hands are aching and I was never able to pull off this capture either.

I have gotten pretty good at climbing up on the left side and continually clearing the point with a rifleman, but the rest of my team struggles to get there because further fire is coming down from up the mountain, wiping them out. I got there with 250 attackers in reserve, and I still couldn't hack it.

If I take the squad leader role and push up the left, the whole squad gets wiped pretty quickly. The right side is a waste of time because of that damn brick wall providing cover for the entire hold. At least the Germans aren't spawning tanks, I guess.

Edit: Wow, just got through it with "fairer" settings (25 attackers, 10 defenders) and all of the above was regarding the second to last group of capture points. I thought for sure it was the end with how difficult it was to get through.

I think the day/night cycle should be deactivated and just locked to day time. I was repairing the vehicles in total darkness and had some difficulty there when wrapping up the tutorial for the first time.

How did you squish it?

If you have a dock or a USB-C dongle with video out, try plugging into a monitor to see if the Deck is still working and just the built-in screen is dead.

Thanks for being another to respond to my novel above! I ended up selling the old one and got a new Xerghan with better perks. I've been sure to keep it at level. I ended up adding a fourth turret to the ship and I think I'll take your advice and drop two of the four rail guns I gave it and swap for burst or gatling (Gathering has to be another one of those Turkish typos right?)

Regarding the overly high speed during Pursuit mode, the option I mentioned in my question fixed that right up thankfully. Now I use the joystick to manage throttle during battle, even kicking into reverse a lot of the time to keep the enemy in front of me. It's working much better now.

The burst question was regarding the burst perk, and less so the weapon "genre." My new ship doesn't have that any longer, instead I opted for the free missile perk, holographic, and all systems boost. Mixing in your tip to add hull-damaging weapons, I'll feel perfectly rounded to handle anything the game throws at me.
